*No* , anyway this is correct more or less. What you personally feel is "wrong" is largely irrelevant. The reality is that the gaming industry exists for one reason, to make money. It doesn't really care about your happiness. However, if this sense of "wrongness" is widespread, enough people will vote with their pocketbook and things will indeed change for the better.

Why is it all on Microsoft? Kinect was added to the Xbox and didn't remove anything. Basically you're hating on the 5 bucks a month for online gaming. Haters gonna hate. All companies want to see CASH.

I do find it ironic that you mention "kinect casuals", when Nintendo based their ENTIRE console system around it yet you choose not to mention this. Are you seriously so naive as to insinuate that MS invented bribery? It was rampant far before MS even entered the console market but I'm sure you willfully choose to ignore that. Bribery is rampant in EVERY industry on earth as it's basic human instinct. Welcome to reality, it looks like it's going to be a bumpy ride for you. It's like the people who believe that white people invented racism and choose to ignore that it's endemic to the every culture on the planet.

Let me know next time Kinect does something that justifies its 150 dollar price tag apart from the Dance Central series. Nintendo at least is able to back up the Wii with strong titles that gives new ways to people to play (SMG 1 and 2, Wii Sports Resort, Metroid Prime 3, Skyward Sword).

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. Let me know the next time Microsoft puts a gun to your head and orders you to purchase a Kinect. If you don't like it, don't purchase it. If enough people don't like it, Kinect will fail and MS will abandon it. Obviously, a large number of people enjoy the Kinect. Your opinion is no more important than any other persons (a concept 99% of System Wars posters fail to grasp). If enough people agree with you and want gaming to be something far different than what MS is promoting, another company will provide it. Capitalism would demand it. However, if what you claim tons of people really want in gaming isn't reality, than companies aren't going to pander to you.

I'm perfectly fine with that, and numbers indicate so is most of the industry, so I fail to see the issue.

 This is how you call "BRIBERY":

"Sony paid $400-million for Blu-ray deal with Warner"

What remains a mystery is just how big a push Warner needed to pick sides. Analysts say Sony only prevailed following a heated bidding war against Toshiba, with the reward reaching as much as $400-million (U.S.). Neither side has confirmed the size of any bids or payments.

With billions of dollars in global sales at stake, experts had predicted the Toshiba-Sony battle would go on for years - not unlike the 1980s battle of videotape formats between VHS **** and Betamax (Sony). That war lasted a decade, leaving Sony battered and humiliated.

So how did this epic battle come to such an abrupt end?

The answer lies in part with the bruising Sony experienced with Betamax, which, like Blu-ray, was also the better product on paper.

For more that 20 years, Sony has been "haunted by Betamax" and was fiercely determined not to let history repeat itself, explained Xavier Drèze, a marketing professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton business school.

"Sony was much smarter," Prof. Drèze said. "They understood this time they couldn't do it alone. They understood that they needed strategic partnerships with industry players."

I 100% agree. Microsoft were the leaders of DLC and now thats lead to content being locked on a disk that you have to pay to play.
