*Prediction*

Before huge Xbox 360 exclusives such as Fable 3 and Halo Reach, heres what I think Microsoft will do:

-First they will make it so theres no possible combination of M$ points that equal $60.

-Then they will release Halo Reach and Fable 3 through direct download about two weeks prior, so all the huge fans buy it through there, so M$ cuts out the middle man, makes people buy extra M$ points, and cuts down on used game sales.

What do you guys think about my prediction. Feel free to share your predictions as well. For an company.

You didn't know, it's Microsoft they want to make money...that is as evil and greedy as you can be. System Wars is turning more and more into the world of Atlas Shrugged....weird.

That would be an amazing idea for them, but I doubt THAT many people could download a game that big all at once. Xbox Live would explode.

That actually sounds like a really good plan on Microsoft's part. Though I'm predicting that Halo Reach will be on two discs: one for campaign and one for multiplayer.

Ooooh a company wants to make money? shocking.

But i doubt they'd do that... big games like Reach I think people will want the real disks. Now I havnt actually downloaded a full game off xbl marketplace (just demos), so I don t know what kind of insurancce you get... but I'd still much rather real old disks. I'd likely wait the 2 weeks if they did that.

Yeah, I mean were are talking about a company, that took a expansion pack originally slated for a download only, and charged $60 bucks for it. Yeah they are greedy..

It would be suicide, with such poplar title like Halo timed DD exclusivity would kill box verion sales that actually cost more for publisher

I've seen a couple or news stories about them getting rid of the MS points system so i don't see that happening.

Company Wars FTW?

But in all seriousness, calling a company 'greedy' is pretty naive.

God forbid that MS wants money.

One problem with your little theory.

MS Points aren't used to buy full 360 games from MS's Games on Demand service. If a game costs $19.99 USD, you pay for it in USD, not MS points.

Nice try though.

MS gets so much hate for fanboys of other consoles because weather they will admit or not they know MS is threat. They are on the biggest companys in the world and at any time can pull out there big guns.

Way too many stupid comments here in system wars today.

First of all, despite what you might think, all these companies are in it to make money. They don't care about you individually. They just care about your money. If devs put more effort into a particular game, it's to get more people to buy it - not so that you have more fun playing it. So there really is no "greedy" move, just smart moves and dumb moves. From a business standpoint, if it makes more money than it is a smart move.

Second, this stupid idea doesn't even make sense. Most people own the 20gb, do you really think MS is going to make people section off enough harddrive space to keep a Reach of Fable 3 game on their harddrive? It's counterproductive. That's less space for people to download arcade and other content.

It was a waste of my time to even entertain such a stupid idea, but things are getting out of hand lately. Way too many people making stupid predictions that they stand by now but won't stand by later when they don't come true.

PS: If you want people to take your comments seriously, then erase your bias. Nobody is going to be surprised that you are trying to bash Microsoft when you are typing "M$" all the time. Grow up, and then maybe people will start to show your posts some respect. Until then, you are just wasting space.

Two problems: 4800 MS Points is perfectly possible besides (three $20 cards).

Well, I think he was talking about Purchasing Points online, that's why I didn't post that.I can imagine many rural folks, and some just don't want to leave the couch, and buy whatever points via credit card right on the spot.

Strangely, buying Points online isn't by $20 increments for some reason. They must know about the Point System being an issue, since Games on Demand don't use them, but I wonder if they don't use the point system for Games on Demand, and have the means to bypass that to direct purchases...why have they not done that all the way?

Why are Add ons, and XBLA games using that Point horrible system?:?

Multiply that proposed transaction by thousands, if not millions, of users, and $$$$. We just helped one of the richest companies in the world maintain their godly wealth.

Of course, over the last 4 years, this has already been the case, so it's too late now. :P

The Xbox Public's apathy of the point system is a great benefit for them as well.
