MS owns this gen by far

Geow , Halo3 , Mass effect ( AAA for sure ) , forza 2 , ninja gaiden 2 ( AAA for sure ), all realhyped exclusives are AAA titles , and let's face it exclusives are the only reason we buy different consoles. ps3 = MGS4 ( AAA for sure ) that is 1 ... Wii = maybe mario galaxy and ssbb , but don't be sure ... that is 2. MS is the obvious winner of this gen..

I like how people are so willing to declare a generational winner RIGHT NOW THIS SECOND when there is still anywhere from 3-4 years in the gen and anything can happen.

The question remains. On a world wide basis, the 360 only outsells the PS3 by about 142,000 a month. That is despite the PS3 having no games and a higher price tag. That is hardly the number of a clean and indisputable generational winner.

This doesn't even take into account the fact that the wii outsells the 360 and has higher total sales so far. It seems to me that lemming fanboys are upset the 360 is in second place for total sales, and is desperate to have the 360 declared the winner of something in case they slip into last.

for a system that has the best games it sure isn't selling that well. you can beleve that the 360 has the best games but if its world wide sales aren't showing its the best it not. In other words why aren't people buying the 360 and why isn't the 360 at 20 million . it does has the best games right.

Well. Which system is the best if we are to judge based on games and such, is higly subjetive. You can't possibly state that Xbox 360 is the best console based on subjektive views about games, funcionlity and so forth. The games you consider to be good, dosn't have to be liked by others.

If we are to announce a console winner, we'll have to do it on som objetive cold hard facts. Like console salenumbers and profit, or the lack of profit for that matter. With the objective criterias Wii is the best console of this generation for now. It have sold most, sold faster than the competition, and Nintendo have profited the most on the console. Yakes...

As the PS3 is sold at a loss, a loss in the gaming division shows that they are actually selling quite a few playstation 3's and not much software. And every company gives numbers of units shipped to retailers.

well 360 not only great games but great functionality for both the gamer and the developer.... its common knowledge that 99.9% of all developers prefer to develope for the 360 over the ps3. also show me a console that has as good online as xbox live... it still has a real gamming controler not some gimmick "wii mote, sixaxis" and outside of the pc 360 has the most AAA AA games

99.9% lol you could of thought of a better number. everyone knows that the 360 is easy to developer for. As for developers wanting to develop on the 360 over the ps3. more devolpers are saying that they like developing for the ps3 because of space-yeah its hard but its a leaning curve. you sound desperate in your post also.

Hmmm the 360 hasn't really out sold the direct competator and that is the PS2 (it has barely stayed with the PS2 in monthly sales). The 360 isn't even in the same generation of the next generation console the PS3 is, because the hardware is about the same as the PS2 and far behind thePS3 in the technology ladder. When M$ releases the 360 with the HD DVD then it will be getting closer to the PS3 as far as technology goes.jimm895

The Wii is kicking some rear with sales not to mention SSB:B is on its way out.

The PS3 has sold about the same number of units that the 360 did in its first year since launch and the AAA games are almost here.

You CANNOT declare a winner after the first year. If you think Halo 3 makes the 360 the best system ever made you are seriously not looking at the whole picture.

360wins for having very faulty hardware and 7 out of the 9 AAAs are shooters.. Woo:|

Nope just looking at the whole picture with a open mind and how history has been in the past. First disc drive was a CD drive that the PS1 used for gameing. Then the PS2 was developed around the extra space of the DVD because of the extra space. Which in reality is what the 360 is still using. Now the PS3 is using Blu-Ray that has several times more space as the DVD and DVD9. Also the Blu-Ray at the last time I checked had around two or three times more space as the HD DVD does and the Blu-Ray space is growing. The target size of the Blu-Ray is 200 gig's per disc in the future.

As for developers complaining about the Blu-Ray if we think back it was the same with the CD and DVD when they were released.
