i was going to get a elite today... 480$, but i want the HDDVD too... thats 200$... 680$!! plus tax 700$!!! YEA RIGHT whos dumb enough to buy that? PS3 was a way better choice

If this is true this is great thing. They have taken steps to make the the 360 more secure and with HDMI and lesser price. And after Halo 3. It will be a big deal if it's true

I don't know but I'm sure sometime down the line for sure. Although I would think they would get rid of the old ones of fix them all and make sure ones fixed are the news one so probably yeah

This is the best news I've heard today!

It's as if Microsoft are reading my mind. I was planning to get the X360 in November, a month after all of this happens...can't wait!

That might be next year if they can't sell their 60GB version out. Sony is expecting to sell through their inventory of the 60GB priced at $500. If it doesn't, then yes, I could see them dropping the price of a discontinued system.

In October it looks like. Looks like they are just "clearing inventory" until the Falcon. This forum poster apparently posted the news of the current price drop just confirmed recently today by the Circuit City ad 3 days ago, so I'd say this guy must be reliable.

It also looks like the falcon chips will cut production costs by 40 to 50 percent, plus HDMI will be included for every SKU. Impressive.

I'm a Lemming but I just wish they could..when the Falcons come out, replace the DVD drive with Blu-Ray, or at least HD-DVD...basically to get more space for more future-proof. They're doing good right now with Halo 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, CoD 4, and Assassins Creed coming out which will be amazing (especially since they multiplats will > PS3 version) but for future-proof...if just they can have a blu-ray or hd-dvd drive at least...with the xbox 360.andyb1205

terrible idea. the next generation of xbox will have that sort of feature. it's not needed now, nor will it for a long time. why would they raise the price 150 bucks and FORCE 360 owners to buy it or not be able to play games.
