[QUOTE="Cute_Red_Panda"][QUOTE="dhjohns"] As they should. The beast that is PS is starting to awake. MS didn't take enough of an advantage, imo, of its head start. Should be interesting.

Beast is awake? I guess the metaphor was referring to the good news around PS3. That's a misconception. Sony has always had this strategy. It is the media that is finally waking up. What did Sony change from 2007 to 2008? Nothing except the price of the console. The games you'll see in 2008 has been in the pipeline since 2006. It wasn't that they just added blu-ray after defeating HD-DVD. They had Blu-ray from the start. They smartly knew that all PS3s should have standardize HDD. It wasn't like they didn't know online gaming was important. They were building Home since 2005.
The PS3 strategy was set back in 2005. The media and fanboys are now seeing the whole from the parts. The price alienated a lot of people, so they thought it was "justified" to ridicule Sony i.e. "10 things needs to happen for me to buy a PS3? I'm glad the media has woken up.
Do you honestly believe you BS? They've made mistakes and are trying to recover,$600 dollar system was a mistake.
No rumble was a mistake
Late start was a mistake
No real commitment to online service a mistake
Hard to program for was a mistake
If they werent mistakes where is your buddy Ken (the father of PS)? What happened to Phil? All these business moves were a mistake and cost Sony money, they needed to restructure everything they missed out on. You been living it (Multiplats best on 360) and now will have to pay for it (rumble $55). PS3 now $400 true but with missing features.
No he is right, rumble was a legal issue that didnt get resolved until well after the launch of the console. Its also a very easy situation to fix, just make controllers with it now. No big deal. Far from a big mistake.
Late start? Sony has never been the first console out of the gate. It timed it release just fine. It was in a good situation where the 360 was only a year ahead of it and Blu ray tech. had been out for a almost a year too so the technology got cheaper to make early in the PS3s life. So prices were able to adjust.
There is plenty of committment online. It has online service is great for anyone who just wants to play free online. It may not have all the bells and whistles but then again all the 50 dollars people pay for XBL gets you is the ability to play online, not the bells and whistles.
Hard to program is just an exaggeration. Its harder to program then the 360 but easier then the PS2 was so devs will get a handle on it very quick, especially with all the tools available to help them. Multiplats have been better on the 360 in the past because most devs have more experience with the 360 then the PS3 and attempt to port it poorly. However recently many devs have proven that games can run just as good or better on the PS3.
