[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]Does the Ps3 have N?? IDK i'm not a fanboy, i do know that i didn't care for linux or BC so the removed features weren't a big deal to me. CuteCakes

No. When the PS3 launched in 2006 there was no wireless N. And I dont not think it was in the mass market(not sure) when Sony launched the Slim in 2009.

N has been around for a few years now.

Ah, my mistake. Well it was not feasible in 2006. Not sure about 2009, but no point in increasing the price of production. MS had room to work with the new 360 where as Sony need to cut costs quickly.

The final standard for wireless N was only approved in September last year - although I have no idea why it's being talked about anyway.

I love my 360 slim. MS didn't lie when they said it was whisper quiet. The touch sensitive buttons really make it feel bang up to date. The wireless N that's built in gives a fast internet speed - my downloads have been a lot faster. It's nice to know MS finally got it right :) On to the subject at hand. When i read most technical articles such as this one my mind goes blank, today however...is no exception :(

sucks for the people that designed it, must have been painful gimping there own work,loldelta3074

Well it's not like they made some super powerful 360 chipset and then gimped it down to to 'old' 360 levels. For all intensive purposes it's the exact same hardware performance-wise, with MS only 'gimping' the connection between the CPU and GPU in order to make sure performance is consistent with the older 360s.

The big disadvantage is if one piece goes back, the whole thing is shot (which is why it's unwise to buy things like televisions with built-in DVD players). That being said, it doesn't really matter in this case. It's not like you're going to go in and fix a broken GPU yourself in a console.

[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"][QUOTE="1Stark1"]

you mean the ps3 has wireless n? let alone that the ps3 has come out with more SKU's the ps3 has had features removed...360 has had them added.WilliamRLBaker

And yet PS3 has more features and still costs the same..........

yeah sorry no, bluray is the only difference otherwise the 360 has more features.

free online is another major thing, and along with the bluray, they are system sellers for alot of consumers. The x360 is starting to catch up, 95% of its owners dun have the Wirless advantage yet.

HelloMoto56

you're right! It couldn't be from past problems, it's SPECIFICALLY RDOD, as I'll ''trust'' your research/expertise.

I bet SquareTrade is full of liars payed off by M$. and their figures of past 360 revisions are also false.

"N'' or 802.11N has been in the market since 2007? I want to guess? (as I write, it was published (officially a standard) in 2009, but available before then for sale, as I mentioned.

and now that I think of it, Microsoft had their overpriced Wifi adapter on N as soon as it was standardized. so they had delved into before the 360S. I'd bet it's all extra incentive of some sort.

however, there's rumors Sony has a new SKU that will include N. but the availability has been out there for quite some time in terms of tech years.

Yeah, not a huge problem for the 360/consoles, but it could be a pretty nasty issue for PCs in the future. I can't imagine people will be too thrilled if they void the warranty on the chip by OC'ing the CPU only to have the GPU component give out later on.

removed 2 hdmi, 3 ethernet 8 usb. and that was before release. Removed memory stick ports, ps2 bc, 2 usb, touch capacitive buttons, they removed SACD playback, and other OS.

So what ?You talk like xbox had all of these features. It's now the same as the new xbox , if people wanted those damn things they should of bought it when it was 600$ , if you want a 300$ product you'll obviously have it a bit stripped down. You know , I don't even feel like defending any console since I have both but your periodic bash on the ps3 is just ridiculous.Besides if we are to play your game , which consists in pointing pointless things , let me start ps3 has the suck-in drive , the 360 doesn't , ps3 has a blu ray reader which is more expensive than a dvd reader.
