multiple discs is not good! (console games)

u people keep saying "oh we have done it with MGS, FF, and last gen games" ITS NOT GOING TO BE OK SOON!

back then there was no option, those games had to be on multiple discs no matter what, this time around there is an option that will make multiple discs games inconvenient and annoying to consumers. There is bluray that can holds more now

when technology allows people to do things easier it becomes the norm and the old becomes annoying and eventually unacceptable, example wireless phone, cell phones, ipods, mp3 players etc...

now there is a more convenient way to play games, multiple discs will be a thing of the past and seem annoying in a couple years when 1/4 of 360 games are on multiple discs

its not the end of the world but its going to become unacceptable

Blu Ray won't become standard because people are tired of switching discs. It will become standard because it's cheaper for for producers to make only 1 disc instead of 2,3,4 per game. It also makes it easier on devs, having much more room to fit data.

...but it will certainly not become the norm because we're so lazy we can't switch discs. That isn't the problem.

dunno.... I dont think it would of been a problem if the core didnt exist. The core is the reason why multiple disc games will come the real question is, how advanced the games will be next year and beyond? esp. since HD really shouldn't be compressed anyways. M$ will probably eliminate cores and make more people mad and happy at the same time.

Do you realise how long it would take to uniquely texture a world which is as big as Oblivion? Not to mention the fact that consoles don't have enough RAM for that amount of unique textures. The PS3s ram could barely hold horse armour!

I think Blue Dragon is the only 360 game at the moment to use multiple disks so it is hardly an issue. Yes in the future more games will have to use muliple disk but who cares if you have to change a disk evey 10 hours.

The advantage the 360 has is that the disk drive runs at a faster speed that the blu-ray drive so game load faster.

At the moment it's much more expensive to make one Blu-Ray disc than it is to make four DVDs. I expect we'll see disc swapping around for awhile yet.

If you're too lazy to swap disks every 10-12 hours then you need help.

Multiple disks never hurt games like FF7 did it?

Most people don't watch the same channel for 12 hours at a time. If they did, I doubt there would be much use for a remote.
