It's an utter joke. On both PSN and LIVE, it's absolutely frusterating. It's such an epic game, but multiplayer is just tragic.

What games do you think are amazing, yet multiplayer was a major downer???

I thought dead Space 2's multiplayer was soooo random and misplaced. Killzone games have great multiplayer, but the servers are slow as molasses at times

I agree about MvC3. The lag screws up the timing of combos so I don't even bother playing online anymore, and their lobbies are so pointless.

OH MAN, great one!!!!!!!!! I forgot. LOL, the first times I played SSBB online felt like I was playing online for the first time ever on the old 90's pc's. MvC3 is bad, but SSBB is a dead shame

I agree. Fantastic game, but it takes for ever and ever to get into a match. And its not on my end as I find matches quickly on any other game. Lack of spectator mode sucks too.

You probably should've waited for the inevitable Super/Ultimate/Gold or w/e edition of MVC 3 -- I know i'm glad I did... or will at least wait until after a good amount of DLC is released to the point that it doesn't look so barebones. They'll fix it eventually I guess.

All of Capcom's fightign games for online play have been crap.. They either are laggy or barebones.. Their multiplayer features consists of something that has existed since 2000 in other games.. And if Sent needs any change he just needs to be made more fragile.. The other character that I think is ridiculous is Pheonix.. I have been watching tournaments as of late and it seems like even when fragile.. She is able to slip through characters defenses in no time flat and anniliate them.. It gets even worse with dark pheonix where characters are just forced to block and die the entire time.

They did it on purpose

Dont worry though, they will release a better version a year from now called Marvelous Marvel vs Capcom 3 or MMC3, this game will actually have a good multiplayer system and the characters fans were asking for from the beginning.

Shouldint matches be quick to find and smooth mroe often if they didint add this for tech reason. Hmmm.

I dont care about all the extra features like Spectator mode...ect in Multiplayer, I just care if its smooth, fun and engaging. As of now, MVC3 online is bad, its not smooth at all, very laggy but Capcom said they would fix this issue. Besides that I think its fine, people really need to get over "sentinel" and actually become good at the game.

Sadly my closest arcade is an hour away. As much as I would love to play BB:CS with other people.

On that note, it did a lot wrong but the core game is still there.

LOL, and yet there are people who complain that she is too fragile. She is properly balanced GlassCannon. She packs a punch in offense but bad defense.

I dont get how you couldint understand mroe meant more. I didint see a reason to fix that one word. Also simply put ifthey didint add spectator mode cause of tec issues since its 3 players if so when does the online still have some tec issues. For examples taking a while to find a match sometimes and having laggy matches.

KZ 2 and 3 should have amazing MP, but the worldwide gameplay drags it down quite a bit. Can't even find a match that doesn't have players from all over the world playing on my region's servers for the advantage they get. Such a stupid thing to have WW gameplay in an online game.

BC2 had a similar issue, but I think the netcode in that game just wasn't up to snuff. Also, BC2 made it a real pain to play with friends.

When I think about all of the online game available and what they can do...I find this hard to believe. If we've got a 250 player FPS than a spectator mode on a 3 vs 3 fighting game shouldn't be impossible.

I get the spectator mode, and it's a shame but not a huge flaw, the lack of replays is also disappointing, but still not a huge deal, however, the online doesn't work properly? it is laggy? you can't find matches? now that's something unforgivable i mean, while some characters may seem broken you just need to figure how to beat them, i remember Sagat or Balrog in SF4, at the end you learn how to deal with them since they are the most common characters, but again, not a smooth online that's a game breaker for me, sorry Capcom, fix it and then i may get the game.

Ryota: "We threw in all the elements including ranking match, free match, rankings and the lobby, but we couldn't add in a spectator mode. 4Gamer: "Was it because of technical issues?" Ryota: "That's correct. This title is a 3-on-3 and the game speed is very fast, so the volume of communication data is larger than in SSF4. Even if we added in all those kinds of systems, they'd be no good if the matches were full of lags. 4gamer: "Looking at it from the outside, we'd assume that throwing in the mode would have been easy since you guys have already done that in SSF4, but it's apparently not." Ryota: "No. But I thought so in the beginning too (laughs)." You guys have no idea what is going when it comes to game development.

When I think about all of the online game available and what they can do...I find this hard to believe. If we've got a 250 player FPS than a spectator mode on a 3 vs 3 fighting game shouldn't be impossible.

Easier said than done. Please don't compare a 3 on 3 fighter to a 250 FPS game

The worst thing anyone can say is, "It can't be done." or "Wah it's hard." These are the people who get left behind in this business. Because someone else will figure it out. Difficult or not. Whiney devs.

[QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"][QUOTE="LastRambo341"] Ryota dishes some info on the spectator system, among other things. I just don't buy that it can't be done. I mean MvC2 on PSN/XBL was 3 on 3 and supported lobbies with spectator mode without any lag in my experience playing the game. Sure the game has 2D sprites for characters -which I doubt really matters much if at all- but at the same time the combat was a bit faster in MvC2 than it is in MvC3.

Maybe they are using a different garbage netcode now I don't know, but if the fact that MvC3 is now using 3D models for characters is whats causing the issue thats pretty laughable in my opinion. Capcom just needs to optimize their netcode and give the fans what they want.

They never said its IMPOSSIBLE. You have more things that are going on the screen than on MvC2. Its just a harder task to do but I'm sure they'll add it. After all, during the game's development when they found out about these issues, so they resorted to finishing the game first THEN adding the mode later due to the amount of work needed, similar to Frank West's case.

Thats part of my problem with the game I guess. I love the gameplay don't get me wrong but the way Capcom has handled this is just ridiculous in my opinion. I mean the game was supposed to come out sometime this month originally I believe but instead of completely finishing the game first and releasing it then they move the release date up a month and ship us a somewhat incomplete game to possibly be patched later if we're lucky but more likely to be added later via paid DLC.

Most Japanese developers struggle making good MP systems/lobbies.
