What IW is doing is extreme, yes. But what it's doing is putting the player in the enemies shoes. Only when you see it through that perspective do you feel more determined to end such injustices. Waatching a movie about won't have that affect.
Basically people crave realism in games. The love the realism of the gun sounds, the way a person looks when they get shot and die, the explosions and all. So why are people so unconfortable with this part of the game? They can take the realism of the act of killing but can't take the realism being part of a bad act?
