I'm planning to buy one of the two map packs for MW2 this Friday (need to make some money) and i would like to know which one is better... Stimulus VS Resurgence Whichever one i do not get this Friday i will get next week... I like Storm, Bailout And Crash from the first map pack but i also like Vacant, Carnival And Fuel from the resurgence.Primalmario
Really? Wow.. Why are you acting like it's such a tough decision if you're getting them both eventually anyways? :| Just buy one, who cares. You'll have them both within a week's time anyways...
yep stole the words out of my mouth.the correct answer is buy neither and get Bad Company 2

or own both.
resurgence is the better pack i bought resurgance yesterday cause i finally have a good wad of disposable income and its a good laugh playing vacant takes me back.Only reason im back on MW2 is CoD4 is just annoyning on PSN now.
The ony thing i really loathe is heartbeat sensors, the reward for camping factor aswell as the nooobiness of the pub community.

COD4>>>>>>MW2i knowbut if you read my post its absolutely broken sometimes we wait bout 20min for the online to start kicking in when we click online in the multiplayer menu, most nights when we party up so we resorted back to MW2 cause its easier and we play priv's :P altho there are nights where we do say bugger it and go to one another's houses but that just doesnt happen when your workin 8h shifts from 6am til 2pm
Buy Resurgance first, it has it's own playlist right now. DO NOT BUY BFBC2 ZZZZzzzzzzzzzz if you enjoy MW2 like I and millions of others do, than you will be bored to tears by BFBC2.iBrodeoYou do know people can like both.....
Anyway like others suggested save your money....but if you want to throw it just do what the guy here suggested
How about you buy a decent game with that $30?gamebreakerz__

COD4>>>>>>MW2I just love when people makes a topic asking a specific thing then a bunch of people just come to said TCs thread and troll. "WTF mw2 is garbage get bad company 2" "cod4 is better than mw2 why are ou playing that garbage"Wow if you guys cant stay on topic then dont reply in the persons thread is it that hard??? Nobody cares that you didnt like the game or think another game is better as the TC lieks the game and theres alot more people out tehre taht likes the game than hates it.
Anyway TC you should get the Ressurgence pack first as its much better than the first map pack.
Or Shadow Complex. Or Flower and Noby Noby Boy. I'd get all of the above before any map pack. But that's me. Can't dictate to others what they should value more (shouldn't be overpriced DLC though). If you have an Xbox 360, get Limbo for those 1200 points.

You're not entitled to free content.
"I should get stuff for free while publishers lose money or they're greedy ****oles." is how comments like that come across. And it's just...there must be a word for it but I can't think of it.InsaneBasura
Gamestops got some nice sales now AC2 20$ BF BC2 $40
you don't need such an overpriced map pack ur only encouraging kotic to milk more

I've never played Bad Company 2 but I agree with the first part of your sentence.
also one thing i love bout the board is that i still dont think they understand acti is a company like any other all they want to do is make money, just like MS and live subs dont see people complaining as much bout that but when your getting new maps and have to pay for them its a diffrent ball game :S i mean you paid for your xbox and all your doing is paying for XBL which is really just adding more content when you think about it.Much the same as companies are doing with map packs.
All the companies are "greedy" even your local supermarket chain is the same as the big guns in the games industry.
How come on console games it's "you're not entitled to free content" while on the pc free content like maps is standard and just comes within a patch?SAGE_OF_FIRE
You're not entitled to free content on PC either. If a company gives you something, that's nice. But it's not something you should be expecting and get all pissy about when they don't. DLC costs them money to produce, it only makes sense for them to want a return, and you're the one who's greedy by demanding it to be free.

I don't know how your logic is supposed to work. It just doesn't. You actually, literally believe that companies should spend money making a product, and give it to you for free. When they don't, that upsets you. Baffling. I am baffled. I have been baffled.
I wrote something up about Valve in my previous post but deleted it thinking it was already common knowledge. Valve gets a cut from sales made on Steam. The more users, the more sales. That's basically how Valve's operation works and why it makes sense for them to give things away. Valve is in a unique position that allows them to operate this way.
And on PC the "pay-for-DLC" model most typically employed is called an expansion pack, not DLC. Apparently this makes it ok for you. Or should those be free too?
Starcraft II is split into three parts, WoW content has cost money for ages, plus they have expansions as well. ARMA II has two expansions. The Sims is ridiculous. Battlefield 2 and 2142 had "booster packs". Half-Life 2 had its Episodes. Etc. So yes, companies, regardless of platform, want to be paid for the work they've done.
I refuse to buy and over priced map pack made by a company who refuses to fix the game that the maps will release for,i surely hope they put servers for gaming like war hawk and not just for match making,to get rid of the whole host advantage sh** and the whole disconnect, drop, and host changing crap the game is plague with.Eltormo
Well, that's not gonna happen. To be fair, Warhawk is an anomaly in how amazing it runs online. Not even the other games this gen with dedicated servers run as well as it does. Resistance is close, but not quite there.

Community custom maps take time to produce, and all their hardwork is free. They don't do it for money they do it because they love the game. With a team of highly talented staff members, making a single map should be really easy.get the Resurgence.... they are some of the best maps in any COD game. I really enjoyed them. It made the game fun again for me.
get the Resurgence map pack... its the better of the 2 plus the maps are way better than the stock ones.

DO NOT BUY BFBC2 ZZZZzzzzzzzzzz if you enjoy MW2 like I and millions of others do, than you will be bored to tears by BFBC2.iBrodeoits not boring its just that in bc2, you will get wrecked as a noob unless you buy the weapons )either SPECATCT or all of them now that thats an option) as the starter guns are terrible, magnum ammo camping snipers are abundant, and there is rarely any teamwork (at least in cod people have mics) personally, i like to just srew over teammates by destroying vechicles and objectives we should be defending when playing it.
Look at a couple of indie games. $30 can buy You a lot more fun than a couple of maps, unless You're crazy about MW2. Even then You should consider one of the better fps's.
People who say that such an answer is off topic; well it's the better answer, and it's posted in system wars.
[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]
Yes I am. I already paid my $50 to play the game in the first place... anything they wish to add as an "afterthought" to their original structure should be free. Any updates, patches or content that is added after the release of a game, should be free. Its why I'm becoming more and more upset with the state of console gaming and want to make a shift back into PC gaming.
Paying for DLC is only acceptable because people haven't been exposed to getting it for free. If developers are so much "entitled" to receive reimbursement for DLC, then why have no major PC developers (that don't develop on consoles) not implemented a pay-for-DLC model yet? VALVe, a company that develops for both PC and consoles, believe wholeheartedly that additional content should be free... just look at TF2 and how much content they've added. So much in fact, you could release a new game on consoles and charge $60 for it and people would buy it. Maybe PC gamers just have higher standards for what they consider a "new" game.InsaneBasura

Sorry I don't mean to gang up on you or anything, but I kept rereading Fox's statement, and no where does it say that he literally believes that a company SHOULD spend money making a product and giving it to him for free. He just said "Anything they WISH to add as an "afterthought". Meaning he isn't expecting any extra content and would probably not be upset if the they didn't add anything. :)

Blizzard is already walking that path with the Celestial Steed and other pets for WoW they sell in their store. And I think it's even worse than 15 $ map packs, because people are already paying monthly fees to play the game and Blizzard still wants them to give even more money to get all these extra stuff. Not to mention all the other extra services you can buy, like changing your server or gender. And I fear for the worst that they will at least try to do something similar with SC2 and D3.

With a team of highly talented staff members, making a single map should be really easy.Well, publishers do. How they sustain their own existence. I doubt all DLC really needs to cost money (see thread subject), but these aren't charities. I generally think it's fair that they want something in return. Hardly all DLC (or the price of it) seems fair though, but that's another issue.SAGE_OF_FIRE
I'll reiterate that EA is leading the charge with every kind of BS there is.
It's unfair that Activision gets all the hate while EA gets none. :(
Would not be surprised if EA is first out the gate with some form of subscription model. If Battlefield 3 employs it I'll try to find this post and say "I told you so.".
Another thing that's sad about all this DLC business is that community created maps and mods don't really get along with it. I would hate to see the modding community go away. It would suck immensely in all kinds of ways.
