won't happen if West and Zampella obtain rights to the MW IP, we'll have to see what happens in courtlamprey263
Since EA has been added to the case the case will proceed as normal.I have a funny feeling the case won't be completed before November.

I Hope its as good as Blackops. Its amazing how much the perk system can change the game your playing, all the different option and strategy they provide to what ever style you want to play. And its not just the perks the equipment you used with them matters a lot too. And for the most part its all balanced as long as you are smart and know how to counter the people you are playing. The past cod games had perks to, but nothing like in Blackops. In cod4 mostly everyone just same the same perks, and in the end what mattered most was what gun you used. And for MW2 that game was just horrible, all you had to do was camp here, get a few killstreaks, and that was it. The game literally encourage you to camp.
A yearly CoD release? Please, what are they gonna milk the series or something?......Oh wait.
Ugh really wanted 200k on Uncharted 3 at once at launch D:
Well, how many people played UC2 on launch day MP
So Gears of War 3 was pushed back so it would have less competition, & now there is Mass Effect 3, Skyrim, Uncharted 3 & MW3 to compete with? Well that backfired. Maybe they'll release it earlier now.
well TC
PS3 users seem to choose COD over anything, even after Black ops, they will still all buy this in the millions, so will PC gamers
It was in development just after MW2 so atleast it has had a slightly longer than usual development time. I still do not want anything to do with it, i just will not trust Activision with CoD anymore... Its just a money maker and it'll be funded cheaper and cheaper every time to earn as much profit as humanly possible.Wow, didn't expect a COD game this year...

How could you not? They release one every year. It's the guitar hero of FPS's.Wow, didn't expect a COD game this year...

me neither
It's baffling, where do they find the time to produce such a quality product? ... ahUncharted 2 came out the same year Modern Warfare 2 did so why should the sales of both games matter?
Also I think Activision messed up the whole game btw, They got rid of the creators of Modern Warfare 1 & 2 and a lot of the staff behind it so I think the game's story is going to be really lackluster, yeah that's right I'm caring about the freakin' story of Modern Warfare.
I'm personally avoidig MW3 like its the black plague. I simply don't trust that IW can release a quality product after 30+ of the staff left. The recent announcment that Sledgehammer and Raven are also both working on MW3 along with IW supports the idea that IW is currently incapable of releasing a AAA title in a timely manner, and multiple dev's working on a single title rarely goes well.

why can't this series just die!!
waltefmoney
Because it's making truckloads of money.
If people are stupid enough to buy it...
The 4th quarter of this year is going to be absolutely insane. Call of Duty is not high on my priority list though, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Mass Effect 3 and The Last Guardian all come WAY before Call of Duty.
I don't mind if someone buys COD, but geez I can't stand how so many people buy nothing but COD , and play nothing but COD.Deathtransit
I'll say this about it: I've now come to think of Call of Duty as the Ed Hardy/Tapout/Affliction of videogames. Meaning, since the idiots and d-bags all play Call of Duty, it's fairly easy to spot them, and hey, it keeps them out of the other games, too.
I don't think it will sell as well as CoD has recently. Why?
1. New devoloper. People don't know Sledgehammer, and their ability to produce quality content is up in the air.
2. The game is outnumbered this holiday season. Syrim, Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3, FF13-2, and more are all up for the holiday, so CoD is surrounded by a ton of other high profile games.
Looking at the sales on Blackops I dont think people really care who makes the games. And I think Sledgehammer Games could be a very good devs, the people who made/creator of Dead Space are are part of the team, so I think they could add something fresh to the cod series when they make their own game which is on hold atm.I don't think it will sell as well as CoD has recently. COD pretty much sells on name alone. The ones made by Treyarch have insanely high sales even though, up until Black Ops, Treyarch was looked upon as the inferior dev.I don't think it will sell as well as CoD has recently. Why?

I hope they give Treyarch responsibility over the Wii version, from my experience so far they did a really good job with Black Ops: Wii, and with a slow Wii 2011 lineup, this could be a good investment for them

I wouldn't mind if they handed all responsibility over to Treyarch :)
They impressed me with this latest entry, and it would be nice to only see a new COD once every other year.

Sad thing is that's not going to happen to most games Activision makes unless they learn their mistakes for releasing gamesin the same franchise every single year.
i personally like the call of duty series but I will never buy one, I'll wait for people to be done with it and pass it to me :D
I will get uncharted 3 and skyrim instead

Really? Cmon now.
For real, what's next?? having two COD's in one yearIt'll be interesting to see gears uncharted and cod all go up against each other. Though i think the real battle will be bewteen gears and codAnimal-Mother
The sad thing is it's going to be an easy battle for the new COD game unless something reallybad happens to Activision in the next couple of months

thats what im saying. ppl honestly thought that an annual series was suddenly not going to have a release this year? u think Activision want to miss out on a billion dollars??! i dont think so ...it's called sarcasm. People here really suck at detecting sarcasm.. just saying. It'll be interesting to see gears uncharted and cod all go up. Tough i think the real battle will be bewteen gears and codAnimal-Mother
I would give gears 3 the edge right now. But the real hype for COD usually comes when theyreveal the multiplayer trailer for their game. Blackops did out sell Halo last year on the 360 alone, but I think Gears 3 will do better sales wise.
We're also forgeting Assassin's Creed that each new installment sells 8 to 10 million. And now the Ubi has guaranteed us yearly releases, we have another sales beast contender for the holidays.
But at least AC >>>>> Cod. Definitly.
Though, I suppose it WILL affect its sales because unlike 2009, Gears 3, Mass Effect 3 and Skyrim are getting released around that time. Mass Effect 2 and the last Oblivion game did not sell as much as UC2 as far as I know, so I don't think those 2 tittle could potentially harm the follow up to one greatly critically acclaimed title that scored 96 on Meta took countless awards home.
Only Gears 3 is a challenge for UC3, sales wise.
I have the feeling 2 or 3 games will get pushed to 2012. Its too much of a risk.
We'll see.
It'll be interesting to see gears uncharted and cod all go up against each other. Though i think the real battle will be bewteen gears and codAnimal-MotherGears will get owned. Just about any big franchise looks rather small in comparison to COD. It's kinda sad...

Yea i can't wait to see the PS3 owners rush to get MW3 on launch day, and buy the $15 DLC a month after the 360 users.....
they never learn
COD is a good game. And there other good games too.
So why not play em all and there will be no worries.
All the developers have to do is delay the game for a monthor release it one month earlier, thats what i would do.
The COD franchise is successful like any other franchise, why do people notexpect it to be released every year.
Still as casual and epic as it is, still a lot of fun to play with your friends.
