you come to System Wars to ask this?lol

Silvereign

Yes I did.

ya this is definately the first place you want to check when you dont know something. :?

Well where else would I have asked? If I asked in the 360 forums, they would say get another 360. If I asked in the PS3 forums, they would've said to get a PS3. Besides I think I made up my mind and am deciding to get another 360. Thanks for all the help though.

Bad Move.

Since you're being ignorant.... Is it much fun when your 360 crashes and you lose your progress? At least I had to play Gears for a bit longer, just so I could redo sections I'd already done half an hour ago. ^_^

Crashes?, you are calling me an ignorant while you are encouraging the guy that said it was a bad move for him to continue enjoying the games he bought a 360 for, I just did my job here, the guy doesn't have warranty, he doesn't want to pay for a repair, I told him to repair it himself which it's actually very easy since buying a new 360 won't be any good he'll be frustrated if it breaks again which it' very possible, neither buying a ps3 since he will be bored to dead and most likely sell it to buy a 360... again, it's better to repair it yourself if you don't have warranty and don't want to give money to microsuck.

The only definitive solutions IMO would be to either A) Take the 360 to a modder and get it repaired, plus add a custom cooling system to protect it (this will cost a lot of $$$), or B) Sell the 360 to a modder for parts, and buy a PS3 that won't overheat instead.

The xbox 360 has terrible reliability problems. During the first months of release, it had a 45% defective rate, and it's still pretty bad. I know a dozen guys who had 360s, and 5 of them had 360s eating discs and 6 of them had red rings of death. One guy ended up going through three xboxs. I don't own a ps3, but I recommend you get one of those. They're more expensive in the short run, but they're reliable, come with more features, have a fair number of decent games coming out in the next few months and online is free.

Ok my 360 just broke, but I managed to get it working again by using the wrapping it in the towels trick. Just my question is, what should I do with it? Should I get rid of it because who knows how long its gonna last, should I just get a new 360, or should I get a PS3?

sebs09

Been there, done that.... What you should do is what any gamer that enjoys the software of a console would do...buy another system! Yes its a pain in the a$$ but hey that didnt stop the PS2 from becoming the leading console last gen. If you want to play your 360 games you need another console, if you dont value them, sell them and get another system...In the end it all comes down to your gaming preferences...nothing more

Game On...

[QUOTE="-KinGz-"]If ur warranty expired, and you don't want to pay alot :@ for it to get repaired at Microsuck, try to repair it yourself, there are several methods that may restore your 360 life or even make it work like it should :@ arrgghh microsoft, my friend's xbox 360 just broke yesterday too :@, this issue is out of control, well, for you to repair your xbox 360 is not complicated, since the warranty expired, open the 360 change the thermal paste and use the erarser method, u should use the heat gun to get better results too, if my xbox brokes thats what im gonna do since there is no MS here in venezuela i would have to send it to usa, and that isn't cheap... I can't believe microsoft... 130$ of something that can be done easily (well with most 3 rings of death thats the method to follow), try checking the error the 360 shows first: turn it on holding both the sync button and the disc try button then watch the light sequence: 4 lights =0, 3= 3, 2= 2, 1= 1, so if it shows 4 lights , 1 light, 4 lights and 2 lights (0102) it's a gpu problem thats most likely fixeable.-KinGz-

Did you just listen to what you said. Why are going through all of this? You should have bought the 360 and not have ANY Hardware problems. TC just get a PS3. If you don't like that. Get a PSP or a DS. You need to wait until 360 doesn't have any hardware issues. This is what most sensible people are doing thats why 360 isn't selling well and still stuck around 10 million. By buying or getting anothe 360 your saying to Microsoft " Yeah Ill buy your expensive product that doesn't work so you can contine screwing me over and milking me for everything I have." Get a new 360 sell it and use that money to get another system.

I di, did you cared to read my post? if your warranty expired you just can make it work like it should be in first place yourself saving money and time with microsuck.

Ok I missed that part. I apologize I read it wrong my mistake man. But seriously TC if you manage to get a new 360 trade it in for a DS or PSP. If you have money to spend get a PC. ANd if your willing to wait just a little longer get a PS3. It will start picking up next month. I'm not saying don't get a 360 at all but just wait until the problems go away. Don't let MS play you.

i have to do the towel trick every few weeks, im gonna try to stick it out til ps3 gets some good games and a price drop.

then im switching over to ps3. future games are goona  look to damn sweet to pass up. i got a xbox 1 cause i was a graphics whore, and im gonna have to get a ps3 for the same reason, but also cause they dont crash and blu ray seems like the winner.
