PC gamer is known for being very strict on every game....I mentioned for a reason, that 98 is the highest score they have ever given, tied with half life 2 and alpha centuari.

A PC game getting a 98 from PC GAMER yeah thats real reliable :roll: thats like sheep using nintendo power to in an argument. Anyways Im not a Fan of PC FPS's I only play SC on my rig (because it cant really play any game beyong 2001 :P ) Gh0st_Of_0nyx

People downplaying the signifance of that review have no idea what they are talking about.

I really need to get a new computer. This game looks utterly fantastic in every single way: interesting story, awesome atmosphere, shooter, and of course the ridiculous graphics.

Anyone wanna give me a thousand bucks or so for a new computer?

stills don't do crysis justic, show me moving shadows in gears or buildings getting blow to bits or trees falling over and its very hard to compare tropical islands to concete cities

I used all very high for the screenshots, I only have to turn down shadows and postprocessing to high for it to be playable.

No, but seriously, the final version has randomly generated people. The demo doesn't though.

Can't wait to mess around with the sandbox editor. PC has had some releases as of late that really appeal to me and I'm using the opportunity to go through some old games as well. I just bought:

8800GT (OC) - AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0 CPU- Gigabyte 690G Micro ATX Mobo - Corsair 550VX (550W) PSU -

G. Skill 2 GB DDR2 800 - and a Cooler Master case (already have 2 HDs) all so I don't have to miss out on some of this gaming goodness. I know it is all value hardware but I felt it would play most games pretty well. The mobo has an onboard audio chipset but I need to do some more research and see what would help improve overall performance (i.e. such as FPS) for a decent price over that chipset as well.

I have a question for you... What's so great about a quad core? Do you really need 4 cores? I mean, don't you only use one for Crysis and the others for applications outside of it?

I don't know much about processors, but isn't having 4 cores kind of a waste?

Just curious on how the quad core works and all.

The game look friggen sweet. DX10 is a must for next-gen gaming.

not anymore....newer games are being optimized to use more than one core at a time.
