[QUOTE="XboximusPrime"][QUOTE="djsifer01"]This is kind of funny because, the 360 is the console im trying to justify buying. Im still kicking myself for wasting my money on console i use maybe 3 times a year.djsifer01
well, my views arent going to apply to everybody. this is just how I feel.
My main hangup is the multipaltform stuff and the fact that I dont think the console gets as fair of a shake as 360 or the same praise from journalists.
The multiplatform stuff is usually minor. Why worry about that? I play all multiplats on PS3 and the few ive played on both are not different enough to even mention. Heck, even FO3 wasnt as bad as people made it out to be. The tables have turned in favor of the PS3 these days, its the console you want to own right now.Im guessing that you do not compare the two versions side by side alot do you? (probaly not because, honestly, unless you have gamefly or something, who would willingly buy two versions of the same game besides me? :) ) Anyway, I think if you did, youd notice key things that are consistent with most multiplatform games that make it better on 360:
1. Anti aliasing: alot of times PS3 dosent even have it since its kinda hard to sue on it aside from Quinces which is basicaly a blur filter that nobody likes.
2. Color Vibrancey: SSF4 is a good example. Colors and things are alot of vivid on the 360 version and are darker, giving a better look to it.
3. Screen Tearing.: this seems to be teh new big thing with coimparisons these days. While the comaprison might give the game a tie in visuals, more often tehn not the 360 version of a game has little to no sreen tearing, while the PS3 version could tear upwards of 25 or more percent.
4. FPS (frames per second): this is a oldie but goodie. Usualy, the 360 outperforms PS3 in this area nearly every game thats multiplatform. a good example of this is DAO that, while visualy better on PS3, chugged on PS3 comapred to 360.(or so people say)
5. shadows: shadows can mean many things. Occalision shadows are ones that define faces and stuff like that. A game that had the PS3 version ommited of this was Batman Arkahm Asylum which had shadows on character models on the 360 version that were absent on the PS3 version.
I could go on, but im getting carpel I think. lol.
Also, to add to the sadness that is me in this thread and my issue with this, you know what I do sometimes? I listen to old podcasts where they mention the things they like about the PS3 or games that are exclusive to it to make myself feel better and reassure me I didnt waste my money and that its great. because honestly not that much praise comes to PS3 from these podcasts adn these guys are pros, so if they say its messed up or bad, that must be true. Ithey usualy **** about PSN or something like that where they wont even mention anything PS3 at all because they didnt play anything on it, which could say something as well
Aint that f'ed up? but hey, im being honest, give me that atleast.
