Barely turn it on any more... It's basically a BD player now, with my PS4 being VASTLY better in every single way except no free online (which I don't do anyway). Time to move on, it served its purpose
I’d care if mine broke down because that would mean that I had a portion of my game collection that I couldn’t play anymore and some games that I haven’t gotten around to playing for the first time yet.
No shit Sherlock. PS3 is almost 12 years old, just about every PS3 exclusive got the remastered treatment, it was time say goodbye and hello with the new Sony console.
My PS3 is still kicking but it's sure is showing it's age as the time goes by. Same goes for my 360.
@davillain-: um, I thought it was pretty well known I'm a ps4 owner already, especially since I say it in the OP.
Seems Like something is getting missed here: I'm saying ps4 is great, ps3 is almost worthless now. And no, it's not a "no shit", because I have tons of retro consoles that I still love and play. My Dreamcast has held value for me. PS3 has not.
? RIP poor PS3.
I still own two PS3s (a Phat and a Slim), I rarely turn them on these days but I'm still keeping them.
I love all my old consoles.
@xantufrog: so what you're saying is, if you have a knack to play PS3 games, you wish you could play them on your PS4, since now your PS3 is dead?
Barely turn it on any more... It's basically a BD player now, with my PS4 being VASTLY better in every single way except no free online (which I don't do anyway). Time to move on, it served its purpose
Pretty much the exact same case. Got a PS3/4 for free. Aside from Bloodborn and Demon Souls, they sit and collect dust while I play PC/Switch. Heck, even the 3DS has gets more playtime, it has a shit tone of better games.
Stuff like David Cage movie wank, Naughty Dog nice animations, wheres the game, and whatever other graphic whore game comes out is about appealing as a wet brick.
@xantufrog: My post wasn't meant to be harm but the whole "no shit Sherlock" was meant to be sarcasm. But I already know you own a PS4 and PS3 still has it's uses but at this point, it's a 12 year old good system that the hardware itself is now old.
Take better care of your stuff my ps1-2-3 are all fine and work fine and always will
my 360 broke same with my original xbox and my xbox one came broke day 1
@pdogg93: I'm a PC gamer first and foremost. Losing BC is huge... Except if you dont give a shit about the particular games any more. I have no interest in PS3 games any more. I literally play PS1+2 games more often.
@ProtossRushX
I take great care of my systems, thanks. HDDs fail, and if you think yours are immune I have bad news for you
That's a bummer but amazing the console lasted 12 years with no problems.
I recently booted up my PS1 & 2 and they still work fine although I never use them anymore. 12 years of entertainment from a $400 system seems like excellent value for your money so like you said, it served its purpose.
Yikes, wow, I don't know. That would make me really sad. Me and my boyfriend have really had good times with our PS3.
@mclarenmaster18: interestingly, this is the Slim. My original BC 60GB YLOD in I think 2011. Honestly, that was a much better machine, and I'd still mourn its loss today if it was the one I still had. Good solid feel, tons of connectivity options, didn't need my old PS2 for anything, and the disc drive was way way quieter
I bought my PS3 2 years ago to play Last of Us, the Uncharted Trilogy, Ico+SOTC, Demon's Souls, Journey, and FFX Remaster, and I also own Dark Souls, Walking Dead, Genesis Collection, and Oblivion.
Of that list, only Ico, Demon's Souls, and Genesis Collection can't be played on PS4 or Xbox One (I like the PS3 Genesis Collection better than the new one). So I'll be hanging onto it.
That would be a crisis situation for me. I regularly use my PS3 for games. PS3 is one of my favorite consoles because of this.
I don't have mine anymore but want one just to go back and play older PS1/PS2 classics. PS3 has a nice catalog of digital PS1/PS2 games at great prices.
