My reasons for switching from 360 to PS3: NOT A FANBOY!

I owned a 360 from the UK launch and since that I have had immense fun with it from that date to present but there are things that microsoft know about and do nothing to fix. I amnot a fanboy or troll in any way, just a married man with amortgage,my own business and a son of my own.These are my reasons for switching to PS3 and it is not something I did out of spite or anger,it was out of PRIDE. Plain and simple!

1: I know everyone goes on about it but hardware reliability, I have been through 5 360s since launch and all were from brand new from my local GAME store,not microsoft's refurbished (regurgitated) trash. Yet still they broke down with RROD and disc drive problems. They were well ventilated and kept clean under a dust cover when not in use yet still this happened. Totally unacceptable.

2: Customer service with microsoft is a joke,dealing with foreign call centres is not how to treat customers and I am not racist in any way but come on! Hanging on a phone line foe eternity and then talking to someone who just runs you through a checklist for common problems off a computer screen is not how to treat your customers these days. I can check these things myself off the XBOX website.

3: Buying microsoft points that are not based on real currency is a smart way to fool you into not realising how much you are spending and then when the console gets replaced I can only play them when connected to live!

4: Live at the moment is a JOKE and it is something we pay for,trust me sony's PSN is catching up.

5: HDDVD is dead,admit it. Thats why microsoft pulled the 360 ultimate just before CES 2008. I know they will supply a blu-ray drive at some point but I already have one built into my new console.

I have a 360 that has never once acted up, and up until 2 weeks ago never regretted it. Then I boughta new TV, 40"1080p Samsung. Now I go back and forth... I wish I had a bluray player, hate the idea of buying a stand-alone when I could have just bought the PS3, but then I look at my game collection... it makes me feel torn, and represents (I think) the heart of the dilemna/battle between the 2 consoles.

Regarding 3, they use points because its universal. It would be harder to use the currencies of each respective country.

Regarding 4, by the time PSN catches up to Xbox Live (as it is now), XBL will have improved even more. It still has a long way to go unlike most fanboys claim.

However, I went from 360 to PS3 because I don't even get RROD, my 360's constantly freeze so I just said forget it and got a PS3. Resistance, Unreal Tournament 3 and Madden 08 keep me busy. Also i'll be getting Ratchet & Clank and Uncharted because I enjoyed both demos so I won't be starved of games as the 360 fanboys say.

Considering most people don't play 10 different games at a time it doesn't matter. Usually people will play one or two games, maybe a 3 or 4. It doesn't matter if you have more quantity because in the end, you probably only play 3 games while the others sit there making your collection look pretty.

Also, in the gaming world today most people probably only play one game. A multiplayer game such as COD4, Halo 3, UT3, Crysis, etc. since you can put hours into them.

Im sorry, trust you? I dont need to trust you, I have a PS3 and 360, and i can say now that PSN is not anywhere near XBL. Sure its improving, but not fast enough to be "catching up." And the HD DVD point is completely irrelevant, unless you were silly enough to buy the add on. M$ have already said they dont care about either format, they're backing digital distribution.

Smart move buddy you have made the right choice but you will get flamed by the rabid 360 fan-boys for leaving the 360. PS3 is definitely the best choice if you want awesome features, awesome & free online and awesome games as well as reliability. This year is going to be a great year to buy a PS3 and OMG the games which are going to come out will blow everyone every, MGS4 nuff said.

Free online does not = better online. Or if you were saying it's better online anyway, it's not, I have both, Live is much easier to use, awesome game library sure, but then the 360's library would have to be called godlike. Great hardware? So far games look exactly the same. Blu-ray's great.

Customer service has been top notch on my end.

To me it's impossible to understand why people willingly bend over to M$ and let themselves be screwed by paying a lot of money for a piece of electronics about which they themselves say that the question is not if it will break, but when. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the day the RROD issues are fixed I'll get a 360, because I'd love to play Bioshock, ME, Ace Combat and other games cows aren't getting. But before they fix it they don´t get one penny out of me and I´m amazed that anyone does pay money for their ****

I own all 3 consoles so I know what's up. Ps3 obliterates the 360 in online play.

The RROD's are an issue that I find seem to be amblified ten fold on these online fourms. The fact that you have been through five "brand new" 360 greatly calls the entire neutrality of the rant into question, or so have zero ventilation where your 360's are sitting, although I will opt for the former.

I have had a 360 Pro since launch, not as much as a miss-fire in nearly two and a half years, I added an Elite roughly a year ago when I bought a new TV which pushed the pro to my bedroom. Of nearly a dozen co-workers or friends who bought the 360 at or near launch I have had one have to return it to MS, yet I come onto System Wars and I have people claiming that they have had six or seven go bust...

Give me a break, Cows nonsense at its finest.

Point three is confusing? When you do an exchange for the RROD you keep your HDD and simply get a new 360 so you would not lose any of your live games? Which yet again calls this entire rant into question.

My advice to fakeboys moving forward is to at least have an idea of how the console you are attempting to bash works before you come up with this sort of story,

lol you pretty much listed all good ps3 games......and games like cod4, halo 3 + many more a lagless mostly on 360 and as far as i know only 2 ps3 games support dedicatd servers :lol: and no i dont have problem paying £5 per month to get good online.......just look at ps3's friend list lol so friggin lame lol and then theres PSN store which barely has any good stuff on it.......oh so good :lol:did i mention it took me 4 hours to download 2 demo's from PSN? :lol:

That´s the least they could now isn´t it.. The three year warranty is good, the problem is that you´ll probably be needing it.

This is exactly the issue with HD formats - unless you have a large (40+ inch) HDTV the difference between the HD formats and standard DVD isn't going to be spectacular. They'll be noticable but a lot of people aren't going to care.

It didn't happen to me, so the problem is null. It takes me 30 mins to download a demo. You'd actually pay money for laggy service? Remember, lemming logic. I get laggy XBL, so it's universal. True, but large HD tv's are getting cheaper by the day and it will just be a matter of time before lots of households will own one.

i dont see why people cant just commit to a purchase, just buy a console and live with it. i also live in the uk and brought a 360 for £280 a couple months before the ps3 was released for £425.

I too bought a PS3 a few days back after my 360 bought the farm for the second time...and I have to say, I think the PS3 is vastly superior. Though there isabsolutelyno doubt about it that its simply down to preference. Whiles theres a lot of cross platform titles (Oblivion, RS:Vegas, Ghost Recon AW2, COD4, etc, etc), its just down to what exclusives you prefer. Xbox 360 has the likes of Mass Effect, Gears Of War, and Halo 3, while Playstation 3 has Ratchet and Clank : Tools Of Destruction, Uncharted, Resistance : Fall Of Man etc. All six of these are great games theres no denying that.

lol you pretty much listed all good ps3 games......and games like cod4, halo 3 + many more a lagless mostly on 360 and as far as i know only 2 ps3 games support dedicatd servers :lol: and no i dont have problem paying £5 per month to get good online.......just look at ps3's friend list lol so friggin lame lol and then theres PSN store which barely has any good stuff on it.......oh so good :lol:did i mention it took me 4 hours to download 2 demo's from PSN? :lol:

It didn't happen to me, so the problem is null. It takes me 30 mins to download a demo. You'd actually pay money for laggy service? Remember, lemming logic. I get laggy XBL, so it's universal. why would i care about anyone else lagging?....when im not lagging its all fine.....dont really care if the other person is lagging to death....and no im not lemming i just say what is right....i recently bought a ps3 for resistance and warhawk + some more games....havent got the games yet but i have messed around with ps3 and believe me its no where as good as 360 online wise...sure it has lagless games (some games not all) but overall things like friends list + some more stuff...its inferior to 360...other then that its a good system design wise and hardware wise...better then 360

Not exactly true. You can be a gamer BUT care about other things like movies and wat not. Thats like saying "games are all about gameplay, and thats all gamers should care about." and thats not true because gamers take into consideration musical score, story, and graphics.
