the story was also a let downEyezonmiiThe story was a let down? I thought it was one of the most competent stories of this generation, because it successfully rehashes some concepts from System Shock 2. Yes, rehashes, which is bad, but rehashes them in a successful way. How so Resident Evil 4 story is better?
[QUOTE="Eyezonmii"] DS was easy, IMO and it's way to linear. Salt_The_FriesI've played and finished it on hard, and I beg to differ. Have you done the same thing? If not, GTF0. Linear? And RE4 was open-ended? first of all, why did you bring RE4 into this? 2nd...i have played it on hard, it wasn't THAT hard, IMO. 3rd, it is linear, hell you can click a button and it tells you where to go...some survival horror game. Only thing horrofic about it was the moody atmostphere and enemies...the survival feel wasn't that great, considering you can buy upgrades, etc.
first of all, why did you bring RE4 into this?EyezonmiiBecause it would be unfair to bring RE5 in here, because it isn't out yet? And the demo won't tell us everything?
Is that girl always around??? I HATE it when i have to play with some dumb AI i always like to play aloneWell, i downloaded the japanese RE5 demo not to long ago, and after playinng it for a awhile...i'm come to the conslution that, it kicks ass. Its pretty much RE4 on roids...i just wanna clear out that while the game looks like RE4, it plays so much different now, expecially with the shooter controls, it actually plays close to gears, with holding A to run and left and right triggers to aim and shoot. The game has a more slow pace to it, heavier if you will, it feels realistic and moves feel fluid. Some enviroments are destrucatable and the fire is insane, blow up a barrel and it sets the floor on fire for a short time, pretty sweet. physics A.I is pretty hard and now i see why its made for 2 players, animations while similar to RE4 it's better and has a bit more variety, another thing thats cool is you know how you can shoot doors, etc? well if you have one of those infected villages infront of one, and melee him when promped you can punch him straight through the door, its dam cool.
Now to graphics...the character models are the best i've seen in a console game, Better than MGS4 and gear 2. Draw distance is awesome envrioments look great and trees/foliage sway etc, but due to the bumped up models, the enviromental textures are toned down from what i've played, you won't see gears 2 or Resistance 2 like textures, but flat low rez mostly...but from a distance still looks great.
My only negative is...
A) Sheva your A.I buddy, while its an awesome addition to the game and survival feel, she gets kinda annoying, most of the time shoots down your enemies and pretty much heals you all the time, when down...which is cool, but the freedom of the game feels limited, i straight away thought of the classic Re's how it should only be you, alone, doing the single player...it gives it more of that surival horror feeling, but i guess team work is the concept for RE5.
B) Enemie bodies dissapear in bubbles like RE4, i wish they would just stay lifeless on the ground, adds to realism
C) Jumping across to platforms, chris looks weird doing it, seems unnatual...while its a small thing, it kinda bothers me.
so far thats it...feel free to ask any questions.

To be honest, only Chris side of the story in Resident Evil 1 was somewhat challenging. You went defensive mate chill ;)
If you believe that resident evil 5 will non-linear your kidding yourself in more ways then one, there will be backtracking and very limited pathing choices like the last game, when japanese developers find a winning formula they are not in any rush to change it.
Opinions mate, thats all we are talking about here from our individual perspectives.
Dead space was a nice surprise having fulled a need for survival horror gamers who need a game to full the gap, it was remarkably good for a new ip out of practically nowhere specially coming from EA. Resident evil is a old ip that has a hugh track record with capcom and the devs know what they are doing with the game, naturally they are going to know how to do things better with a genre then something that just came out.
They have a very lengthy lore for the resident evil games also with many things to use within the universe, dead space doesn't have the luxury for the story, something you probably should have realized, 18 games vs 1 game...
You do the math with the story argument and see where you end up :P
Resident evil 5 will be a great game no doubt, I'm giving my opinion on my experience like you are and the horror aspect kinda didn't even hit home for me with any of the games past resident evil 2, silent hill was more my horror winner award until silent hill 4 thenit lost its edge like the resident evil games ;) Each to his own though mate.
[QUOTE="Salt_The_Fries"][QUOTE="Zenkuso"]difficulty also always plays a hugh factor in resident evil games.Eyezonmii
I'm talking in general, not about individual skill of certain people.
[word limits @_@ wtf]Uh why? im asking you for your JPN gamertag u'rent even going to use it anymore..u dont need to add me to the main one,is just to play the game co-op.[QUOTE="McdonaIdsGuy"][QUOTE="Eyezonmii"] Nope. If i did, I'd have to kill you.....Unless you wanna die?Eyezonmii
LOL i was kidding, its = for3nsic klown
My main one is = Hardtarget86
Ok i will add you after 2 hours and we can play it :D.first of all, why did you bring RE4 into this? 2nd...i have played it on hard, it wasn't THAT hard, IMO. 3rd, it is linear, hell you can click a button and it tells you where to go...some survival horror game. Linear doesn't have anything to do with hand-holding in a game, linearity comes from the structure of the video game as a whole. Post above for the skill talk, each to there own, you seem to act like everyone is the same as you are, they aren't. Likes, Dislikes, Skill, Difficulty, Etc... Each to there own.
[QUOTE="McdonaIdsGuy"][QUOTE="Eyezonmii"]Ok i will add you after 2 hours and we can play it :D. to bad i live in the land down under...i'll be dead asleep. lol Well doesnt matter :D,i'll still add you.LOL i was kidding, its = for3nsic klown

[QUOTE="Ren_eko"]IMPORTANT QUESTION---Can you move while you aim/shoot?EyezonmiiNO, and if this is just innocently trying to bash the game....GTFO. it doesn't need it, considering the enemies...they don't have guns and this isn't a full blown action game.
[QUOTE="Eyezonmii"][QUOTE="Ren_eko"]yep, this isn't your type of game...good to see you base games SOLEY on being able to move and shoot, you also haven't played it....very good decision, my good sir...forget about everything else....no moving and shooting = flop.... YOU TELL EM BRUDDA! I played RE4 and loved it in my top 5 PS2 games so no it isnt based solely on being able to move and shoot, but i rather have more options dont you? Why not make the AI better or stronger to counter the fact that you can move and shoot? That formula has become obselete to me and i hate they didnt change it. its too keep tenstion, according to capcom...i've said that to my self too, i wish the game could atleast walk and shoot..but capcom like it this way and so do many others, changing it would cause an uproar among the hardcore fans, lol..thats for sure. its changed enough as it is....what can ya do.Like i said, according to the enemies and not using weapons, there is no point. The ONE thing i had hoped they would change about the RE4 controls ...and they didnt :( , this game just went down on the Hype-o-meter for me.Ren_eko
IMPORTANT QUESTION---Can you move while you aim/shoot?Ren_ekoSeconded, TC, please advise and thanks for the impressions. :)

Here is a quick step by step guide on how to create a jp account in order to dl this. If anyone else wants it.
I just finished playing the demo.
It's pretty fun imo.
The graphics are great.
The bosses look sweet, and are very deadly.
It feels a lot like 4.
i hate capcom, they made rez. evil from survival horror to actionshadow_hosiYou don't have to hate them. It's better simply to move on and pretend that it never happened, and look for something that suits your preferences moar!1
