Lems usually forget that a game can look much better just months after a beta (Halo 3 prime example).

I don't think R2 will look better than Gears 2, but it will definitely look better than Halo 3 IMO.

I don't know what map it is but go look at one of the cars on fire in multiplayer it has no texture at all I would take a picture but It wouldn't be very good quality

I'm in the beta and I personally think it's a lot of fun. It does feel a lot like the first one, but better, which is to be expected of a sequel. Graphically it's good, but yes, Gears 2 is probably better. It's strange, some things look extremely well to me, others look bland and some things look out of place, but all of that I think can be attributed to the style of the game (artistically). Some people, I guess, will probably call it uninspired but I don't think that's exactly right. It's hard to describe. Anyways, the game it self is a lot of fun, and it really does have it's own feel, despite what some people may say, that separate it from Call of Duty and Halo. My only complaint thus far is that matchmaking is disabled for the beta, and sometimes it's really hard to get into a match by joining a server.HeroOfCows

matchmaking was working for me. :D you should try again, sumtimes it works, and sumtimes it just acts up :P But anyways, one of the graphical things that stood out for me the first time i played the beta was the water :D I luv the water!

to bad R2 devs actually made the co op not go with the sp story. Unlike gears, R2's co op beats gears co op any day.

the graphics look acceptable to me. i don't care if they are ground breaking. i really don't. i could have fun with counter-strike or the original half-life. they are fun games. graphically dated, but they get the job done.thesmiter

i agree graphics are not the only part of a game sure they are a great add on if they look good but if the game is fun (socom) graphics can take a back seat IMO.

R2 looks better than Gears 2 and has more stuff going on the screan. More enemies, large landscapes and I have not experienced a single frame drop. Gears 2 looks like trash and R2 is on beta right now.... it will look 2X better specially the SP.Hitman533

NO. Resistance has more onscreen better lighting bigger levels better water farther draw distance and better textures.

Honestly, as much as I love the ps3, I played gears 2 today for about 5 hours... It is the best looking console game I've ever seen. The gameplay is the most polished fun you can have. The textures are incredible. The amount of variety in the levels is incredible.

Playing co-op with my buddy and we were just blown away. If this game (gears 2) does not score 9.5 or even a 10 I will lose alot of respect for video game reviewers in general. No game has matched the intensity of this game.

For those of you that want to label me a videogame pirate, it helps to know people in the industry...

there you have it. the gameplay and a unique story + unique features + acceptable graphics = good, fun game. graphics don't have to be freakin awesome, as long as they are up to par with this gen standards.

Nice job picking up a glitched photo ALL games have problems. I'm not in R2 beta but my next door neighbor is i played enough to know it looks pleasing but when you actually play it not so much...Gears 1 isn't better but Gears 2 hell yes.

I'm in the bEta, but I must admit I'm not too impressed. I just wish PSN as a network was better. I'm sure the kinks online will be ironed out, but I do hope they improve the way partying up is also done too. I don't mean the random disconnects that happen on the beta, I mean the interface and interaction. Halo 3's party system by far is still the best system I think for any console. Resistance 2 leaves much to be desired, but I also wish they'd make things easier to label when you are trying to talk with other people to let them know where an enemy is at... that's a bit problematic in some of the levels I find. (He's by the car by the theater.... ugh... which on? or he's on the rooftop of... umm.. that tall building...)

you cant blame the game for that, learn to be more descriptive. I do wish R2 had the same system as battlefield:BC where if you get sumone in your sights, a lil icon comes over their head as you hear your guy call it out over his radio and everyone in your vacinity can see the icon over the guys head. (Atleast the demo had that feature, dunno if the actualy game still has it...havent played it yet)

Resistance 2 in my opinion isnt all that fun.The graphics look last gen and the gameplay is just average.Maybe the final version will be better but judging by the last few ps3 betas i was in i doubt it.Ive been dissapointed by all the betas ive played on the playstation 3.Resistance 2,mgs4 and little big planet were all let downs after i played the betas and i dont even wanna get started on the socom beta.Im just glad i never bought socom after all the problems the final version has.loudharley
