My Xbox could not have broken at a better time!!

I just got the E74 error. To make a long story short Microsoft wants $120 to fix it. I've been though 5 xbox's since launch and none of them lastest more than a year. So I'm not paying $120 a year to get it fixed.

This could not of happend at a better time because.

1. I'm not playing anything on the 360 right now

2. It's only a week away from my son's 10th birthday

3. The PS3 just dropped to $300

4. My wife is about to get a $3,000 loan check from her school in a few days

It worked out perfectly, she even told him she's gonna get my son a PS3 for his birthday. LOL, so now it's a sure thing. Can't wait!!!!

Just to let you guys know, my son really, really wants a PS3 it's just that we had the Xbox and a Wii. So we told him that was enough game systems but now that the 360 is broken we have a good reason to get him one now.

I'm almost glad it broke, and it was perfect timing!!

Protip: look after your consoles.

You should have just bought one of the newer consoles (with better cooling etc.) after it failing... well... the third time...

Also this last one that broke was made Aug 22, 2008 so it's not very old. Plus I always had it sitting on top of my entertainment stand so it had as much ventilation as possible.

Watch you guys that have never had an Xbox break on you, just wait. In ten years you will never see a working Xbox 360 unless it's been sealed since

Plus I've had just about every system since the NES and I haveNEVER had a single one break but the 360, I still have a launch Dreamcast that works great!!!

You Xbox is not under warranty?

Anyways I'm just gonna sell them all to Gamestop or maybe this place by me call "The Exchange". Gamestop even told me they will still take the Xbox for $35 broken. I'm just putting it all on a PS3 and I can finally play all the PS3 exclusives I've been missing!!

Don't they renew the warranty after each failure due to E74 and RRoD?

If 5 broke in a year, they really all should be covered. Unless Box#4 lasted 3 years.

No, it broke 5 times since launch. They said they want my reciept because I've had it more than 3 years. LOL, I tried to lie and say I got it in 07 but they knew because of my first repair.

Anyway it's not the same thread. This one is call "My Xbox could not have broken at a better time" and with it I explained why it was the perfect time for it to break. In my other thread I basicly just said I'm done with Xbox and I getting a PS3.
