Hmm will wait and see, i think we got another 2 years with the xbox 360... im sure there is still plenty to come and better looking games...Look at the ps2. When people thought that was it, it released better and better looking games. I dont think they will have maxed out yet. Again i wouldnt be suprised if this was PR speak to bull up how good Tekken looks.
Graphically Tekken 6 doesn't even look that great anyway. They should have just released this game a long time ago on the PS3 and taken their time on a 360 port. This game is taking far too long to launch and for Namco to complain about the 360's hardware for not being capable enough when it already looks sub par compared to other games is quite ridiculous. Disappointed Tekken fan.
I don't know if I trust Namco to tell me what the 360 is capable of.Cherokee_Jackthis is not namco ( I think could be namco pr generate some hype but I doubt it) this is the brilliant tekken development team them>>>all.
you need to see TEKKEN 6(br) in motion and hd before commenting about it the game looks really phenomenal in motion with alot of effects and I will say this now which ever version of tekken 6(br)(not so sure it will be ps3) which will look better will belong to the superior hardware, on every platform so far a tekken game was always at the top of the graphical scale(ps2,psp,gba)the tekken development team are the best developers and far above all else.TekkenlovingSo...You're saying the PS2 was better hardware than the Xbox because it had Tekken games on it? Anyways, fighting games are not going to max out a console. Tekken 6 doesn't look anywhere near as good as the CG movies we were shown a couple of years ago.

I remember the close up with sweat, and steam, and it was obviously cgi, but that didnt stop a lot of fanboy idiocy occuring. (at the time this was a ps exclusive)

If Namco, or your precious Tekken team believes Teeken 6 is going to max the 360 out, they suck, and have no clue what they're doing.

The 360 is no PS2.
Remember how easy the 360 is to develop for? How simple and accessible it is? That is the big appeal for developers. It also means developers are able to maximize the consoles power fairly early on. Last gen, developers complained the PS2 and its emotion engine were the most difficult to develop for. However, the consoles popularity meant they HAD to develop for it if they wanted to reach the braodest market. THe more developers worked with the console, the more they were able to learn the difficult hardware and advance the graphics over time. It just took them longer.
In short, the 360 may still see slight improvements graphically, but they have peaked in the sense that it won't be the constant climb it has been to this point.
You can't compare the X360 with the PS2. The PS2 was hard to utilize at first because it had a completely different architecture compared to PC's, devs had to constantly think of new ways to get better graphics out of it. The same goes with the PS3. The X360 however, has a architecture that's similar to a PC, which of course is'nt a bad thing in the beginning. But over a long period of time, it could be. The X360 has'nt exactly shown as much improvements in graphics as the PS3 has.Hmm will wait and see, i think we got another 2 years with the xbox 360... im sure there is still plenty to come and better looking games...Look at the ps2. Not necessary. "Easy to develop for" doesn't necessary mean "easy to max it out". If a console is easy to develop for, devs have more ways to play with the hardware, creating more ways to improve their engines. It is a question of optimization, more than of raw power.Looks okay to be honest. Doesn't look that amazing, graphically.tekken own all , ya tekken own all-see in hd

I didn't get the impression he was saying 360 is inferior technology . i Thought he was saying that the game was made for PS3 technology and they're having trouble reprogramming it for 360.
So I think he is saying they are different.

Well, this is the reason why, "As Tekken 6 was developed on an arcade board based on the PS3's architecture, replicating the its high graphical fidelity on the 360 - at 60fps - has been very challenging according to Harada." The game would original created using the PS3 architecture. As we all know and have seen, it's pretty hard to convert PS3 games to the XBox 360 and visa-versa. If they had built the game from the ground up on the XBox 360, there wouldn't be any issues at all. Also, Namco need not forget the 60GB+ HDD that the XBox 360 has. They could easily make the game so that the HDD is a requirement. The majority of XBox 360 owners have a 360 with the HDD. So it's not that the XBox 360 has reached any limit, it's that Namco is trying to port the game from the PS3 instead of starting from scratch and creating the game on the XBox 360.http://xbox-360.nowgamer.com/news/249/next-xbox-could-be-affected-by-tekken-6-tech

A beat em up with tiny squre stages and zero detail around is taxing 360 ?
More like using 10% of its power
Yeah, I don't think so and Dead or Alive actually looks better and that was a launch title. DOA's interactive arenas were incredible.[QUOTE="ZIMdoom"][QUOTE="o0_L0st_B0y_0o"]

While I agree that porting game usually means more issues that building from the ground up, many developers have already said in the past that due to the easy and familiar 360 hardware...porting from PS3 to 360 is much easier than vice versa. So I would argue that the quote you refer to is open to interpretation and could still refer to the limits of the 360.
Mainly I wanted to point out that, and I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure MS doesn't allow developers to REQUIRE HDD support for their games. It's MS's policy because they don't want to alienate the people who bought the Arcade model. Especially now with the arcade model being $199 and partly responsible for their recent massive spike in sales.
I find it hard to believe a 1 vs 1 beat em up pushes the 360 in the same way as say, Fallout.BazfragGood point.

Did you fanboys see this part? Ya'll need to do some research on Arcade Cabinets. Street fighter is running off a PC, Tekken is on a arcade board, thats a big difference.
Tekken became irrelevant once Street Fighter came out. Maybe instead of making unreal CGI videos, they should've tried on completing the game and getting it out. Now they have to compete with Street Fighter. In the real world, people don't care about the nice, new shiny game like you guys do on here. Nobody is going to care that SF4 came out early 09 and Tekken came out late 09 or later.
Dead or Alive 4, Soul Calibur 4 (to an extent), Mortal Kombat vs DC all sold because there wasn't that one great fighter out. Tekken should've been released to take advantage.
Agreed Soul Calibur 4 looks away better I think. From what I have seen Tekken doesn't even look that great

The limit was reached in 2006 with Gears one.loco145Gears of war 2 says hello. back on topic, i seriously doubt that its the 360 itself thats the problem, and the fact they are having a hard time optimising the game for 360 hardware
Haha, I'm not buying it. Tekken 6 looks pretty mediocre. Another dev trying to make us believe they're pushing their game past the limits. I call BS. This looks no better than any other fighter and vastly inferior to the more top tier titles.
