Name a game with crappy reviews (less than a 6.0) that you still like anyhow.

For me, Wizardry: Labyrinth of lost souls on PS3 (played it on PS now).

Shitty graphics, horrible, antiquated, and really grindy dungeon crawl mechanics, and yet I still really enjoyed it.

Not less than a 6.0 but Mario Kart 64 (6.4) wtf, and Legend of Dragoon (6.4) come to mind. Awesome games.

Agarest games, they feel so dated and are so cliche, yet I enjoy them a lot.

GameStop gave Dead Rising 3 Apocalypse Edition on the PC a 3/10, I played it on the XB1 and I really had a great time with it. GameSpot also gave Ryse: Son of Rome a 4/10, soooo was not a 4/10, I enjoyed that a good bit too. There's a good bit of Xbox One launch games that just got shit on because of people being upset with Microsoft overall.

lol how did those games get rated so low. LoD should be like a 9 xD

To topic: i really can't say since I'm not following reviews that much. I'm pretty sure a lot of the games I like either didn't get reviewed or get bad scores.

Quantum Break.

Heavy Metal: Geomatrix on the Dreamcast got a 3.4 here. Freeking love that game.

MotoGP 10/11 got a 6 here. Also, it's developer went bust not long after release, and Capcom dropped the MotoGP license all together. I enjoyed the game a lot.

I go Mario Kart.

Mario Kart 64 got 6.4? I had no idea.

Reviewer probably got hit by a few too many blue shells.

Lair on PS3 was a pretty good game after the controls got fixed.

If we are just going by GS score, Zero Time Dilemma got a 6 here. It was really undeserved and just proved Mahardy knew nothing about the series

Best melee gameplay in any game I've ever played.. I remember playing the demo a lot because of this, but I got dissapointed in the whole game. I'd give it a 7 or something.

I can't think of any game that's lower than 6 that I really liked, but Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze comes to mind. A really, really good game deserving of a 9, that GameSpot were weird enough to give a 6. I guess the person playing really sucked at it or something, because the complaints make zero sense.

Plenty of games that fit that. Killer is Dead is one of them.

I liked Dirge of Cerberus FF7, Megaman X6 and Megaman X8.

Dead Island: Riptide got a 4/10 here on GS. The review was wacked and despite it's faults from the previous Dead Island, (which by the way got a 7/10) I for one really enjoy Riptide and I like the new abilities. Riptide may not be a perfect Zombie game but it sure as hell a fun Zombie game to play then let's say, Dead Rising 3.

Shenmue got a 6.7. That REALLY REALLY sticks out for me. They eventually changed the score to 7.7. It was after this fiasco I learned reviews are garbage. What makes one man's opinion better than yours?

Killer is Dead and pretty much every other suda51 game

Zatch Bell! Mamodo Battles got a 5 on the PS2 here. I freaking love that game on GameCube.

The ones that come to mind are Ryse: Son of Rome which got a 4 and Bomberman 64: The Second Attack! which got a 5.2.

Edit: Also Conflict: Desert Storm which got a 4.5.

Hmm, don't really know. I'm sure there's something, but I don't keep up with scores much tbh.

I'll say most of my favorite games this gen scored very well, in the 80s+, some in the 90s. But my favorite game this gen is sitting at a 75 I believe... which

1. Is still a good score by normal people standards and

2. Is understandable given how the launch was handled.

This reminds me of how low some N64 games scored here back in the day(MK64 and Yoshi's Story as mentioned). Diddy Kong Racing as well had a 6.6.

Unrelated to N64 I will add Way of the Samurai 3 which was 5.something and WotS4 which was a 6.0. I really wouldn't argue with those reviews as the games are definitely quite flawed, depends on how much you like the game overall. Which for me is more than a 6.

I'm enjoying Prey. It's like a high-tech Fallout.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic

This is about the extent of my sub-60 scoring experiences

• Shellshock Nam 67 - ok
• PS+ Medal of Honor Warfighter - didn't like it
• Dead to Rights II - ok
• Mercenaries 2 - ok , but I didn't beat it
• Vietcong Purple Haze - somewhat ok , maybe not ? My memory is a little hazy.
• PS+ - Contrast - ok
• PS+ - Entwined - ok ,

Is it now? I might just have to check it out.

Matterfall

I mean, it is a 5 game, but it's an enjoyable distraction if utterly forgettable.

Alpha Protocol. Fantastic, fun game. No matter what KVO said.

Not so much in story. But the gameplay mechanics and scavenging are very similar.

Time and Eternity. The reviwes crushed this game, yet I found very uniqueand special.

This game definitely seems to have something of a cult following.

Based on Gamespot reviews:

Mario Kart 64 (6.4) - WTF? They only gave Mario Kart 64 a 6.4? This is one of the most fun games that I have ever played in my life! Whoever reviewed this is crazy.

Bomberman 64 (4.6) - Again WTF? Only a 4.6 for Bomberman 64? This is an incredible party game!

Crash Bash (6.0) - Another great party game that Gamespot has rated too low. I think Gamespot reviewers in the 5th generation must have played these games without friends.

Xena: Warrior Princess - The Talisman of Fate (2.8) - Ok, for this one they might be right. Perhaps this is technically a bad game, but my friends and I are such big fans of Xena that we still had a lot of fun playing this game and fighting each other as the characters that we love from the show.

Edit: I just saw in the post below that Gamespot gave Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze a 6/10. That's crazy as well. That is one of the best games of this generation in my opinion.

It's pretty crazy especially considering the number of people who rave about it being one of the greatest platformers ever created. People who analyze level design and pay attention to incredible detail know how mind-bogglingly impressive Retro Studio's work here is.

The review on GS for Megaman X8 is so terrible; Navarro didn't even know how to play some of the stages. He literally gave it a bad review because some parts were too hard for him or he couldn't understand what was going on. It reminds me of all of the shit tier reviews for shmups and games like Godhand.

I didnt mind Ryse , havent touched it since i finished it but i had fun with the executions and there was one barbarian boss battle i did a few times because i liked killing him. Played a dozen ir so of the online matches and then quit playing it.
