Naughty Dog claimed to only use 50% of their power on UC3 = Failures of devs

It's called marketing and they are lying to you. Obviously they didn't only use 50%, they are just trying to find a way to sell the next game.

This is much the same as Crytek saying Crysis would look better on the Xbox than the PC. Obviously a complete lie which was later demonstrated to be completely ludicrous. They said it to publicise the game, fans believe it becxause they want to think their platform is the better.

So much fail! I hope the other 50% is working on a new Jak & Daxter ^^

Wow is that ever a bad argument from the TC. Just...so...bias. With no real information, other than a seasoned and awesome developer saying the PS3 could produce even more powerful games. I doubt anyone can get 100% of the Ps3 working, the cell is just too complex. Not in a good way, that's for sure.

Comparing Gears to Uncharted is definitly like comparing apples to oranges. I hate when people compare to genres that are not at all alike.

That is a gross overstatement. Uncharted 3 is the worst in the series, and you and I both know there is lots of great games on the 360. UC3 is still good though, cause it's an awesome series, so being the worst in it had to happen to one of them. There is tons of games rated better or the same as UC3.

They only used 50% of their developers on UC3? I guess that just shows how awesome ND really are to be able to use 50% of their employees and still make a great game.

The article just states that half of the ND team worked on The Last of Us while the other half worked on Uncharted 3.

Even if they did use half their team, that didn't stop the game from being both critically and commercially successful. And as far as console games are concerned, Uncharted 3 did things that other games (on consoles) haven't.

And your 50% = F idea is a load of rubbish.

If they can make a game with the technical level of Uncharted 3 using just half their team, that goes to show how talented the devs are.

Pretty much spot on, sadly most people can't give credit to ND or UC3 for what that they do. Even I despise Valve, but I will give them credit for steam and the L4D series (seems like no one has done co-op games in a while as good as L4D did this gen besides Geow and maybe 1 or 2 other games).

Also Im sorry but Do I know you? Maybe you missed me hyping the last of us when the devs were being announced for it. And I was still hyping it and even said it is a good chance for GOTY AFTER I found out ND were on it.

I even said that they were doing some fantastic work on it from what I've read.

I just nkow that ND spout stupid percentages all the time for PR purposes. Doesn't mean I don't think they make good games. Uncharted 1 and 2 are some of my favourite games ever. U3 not so much. So please don't say I hate ND

Lol that does seem pretty bipolar actually. But I said those things about TLoU before I read any info on it. I still think the trailer made it look generic and like any other zombie game. The info after that was what made me hype it. Which like you said is leaning more toward a survival game and not action which I feared.

And I have always stood by the fact that U3 isn't as good as the others. My stances on that have always been the same

They are easily the most talented dev this gen, and when The Last of Us comes out your going to see the product of that great talent again. Oh and btw Gears isn't anything like Uncharted, aside from 3rd person shooting they have NOTHING in common! Even their cover/shoot gameplay mechanics is different.

And also yes most comparisons are pretty dumb. They just compare cos they are both the third game and went up against each other around the same time kind of. They just needed to pit something against the other. Look at another one Skyrim and Skyward Sword. Just cos they release around the same time and both have sky in their names. MW3 and BF3 maybe but the rest are usually stupid

Sony only need to change the case of the ps3 and put the ps4 name on it, to compete in the next gen. thats the power of the cell, uajajajaja

I don't know whats worse, that the tc obviously didn't read the article he linked (or did and is borderline illiterate) or that half the people replying didn't either.

What if going all 100% was simply unreasonable? What if it would had cost them twice the man power, time and money? They would loose money on the game.
