ND has been under attack. They're getting bombarded by enraged Sony fans calling them on their cash grab that is TLOU Remake. But ND says NO! I haven't paid full price for a game since Madden NFL 2005(PS2).

I haven't played the free PS+ version they gave us some time ago.

They are redoing animations in specific scenes and adding a few more, and updating the graphics.

Thats not building a game from start to end, and therefor not worth $70

Level design is absolutely not staying the same and this was evident in the damn trailer. It's using the gameplay from TLOU2 because it's running on the newer game engine. Part 2 also utilized more vertical combat than the first game so expect the remake to also do the same.

I agree that $70 is way too much to pay for another TLOU even though this is a Remake and not a Remastered. That said, I still love Part 1 over Part 2 and the fact the remake is coming to PC after all, I'll still buy it just to support the PC version and hey, if I'm lucky, I'll just buy it for less over at CDKey.

I guess it’s a standard price for gamers who haven’t played the series yet? I’m guessing $70-$80 is to much for a coat of paint for those who have played it?

This is one of those things that bugs me more than it should. I think mostly because I know it will sell well, and only spur developers to do more of the same.

Granted, I would enjoy some remakes--not remasters, I want remakes!--of a lot of games. But this is, what? The fifth revision of this game on two platforms, and wasn't it already backwards compatible on PS5 to begin with?

I really hope this crap fails badly! And not because I dislike TLOU or anything, just because I don’t want this to be a thing! If you want to remake a game, either do it like FF7R where it’s basically a new game with the the same overall story it grab a really old game ( like ultima 7 old) and remake that!

People are going to buy it because it's a Sony game. Anecdotal, but I have 2 buddies on base that are going to buy it because they want to do their part. When asked for clarification, they said it's supporting the team. 😑

It’s going to be highly amusing to watch the reactions and backpedaling when this hits of all those trying to pass this off as nothing but a resolution/frame-rate bump in making the argument $70 isn’t justified.

It may not be to some as that’s subjective, but stop intentionally ignoring the fact that this REMAKE is using TLoU II’s gameplay improvements, is introducing new weapons, model and environmental assets, areas to explore, modes (speed running), accessibility options, filters and gameplay modifiers. Perhaps those dumb, misinformed and gullible enough will believe none of that exists……doesn’t mean the position is nothing but based on ignorance and misinformation, and is thus hot garbage.

But hey, System Wars. Whatever fits the narrative to push the agenda.

Rumor is Last of Us II Remaster releasing next year. And God of War Remaster is coming next year too.

regardless of whether you like the type of game, it's hard to argue tlou2 isn't meticulously built with near peerless attention to detail. and this guy is saying the remake is even better. i am curious to see more of it

I don't think anyone is arguing that. At least no one here is on sw is arguing that from all the posts. Whatever the case, I'll be picking it up on PC once it releases since I enjoyed it years ago on the ps3. Understandable arguing about the price, but I firmly believe, no price is too high for what one believes is worth the admission. Only if it is deemed worth it.

Maybe 70 bucks for the last of us part 1 remake is at least more worth it than 60 bucks for a new Mario golf game or mario strikers game. (and they are new but still kind of the same as the older ones)

if I didn't play and beat this game literally last year for the first time, I would have maybe SOME interest in playing this again. Actually if they are asking people to spend $70 for this game, they should at least add a horse for travel purposes like they did in tlou2.

I didn’t buy the original on PS3 because I knew they would port to next gen with it being a twilight release. I’m doing the same with part 2.

I can’t wait to buy the remake of part 2 with the multiplayer included.

$70 is definitely too high of an asking price but it's also definitely not going to be a 1:1 remake. They will add in new combat encounters and the gameplay mechanics from Part II.

Rtx update for $70?

For someone who has a name PC lover, you would think this is for those who never played this game thus this is coming to PC after all. Most PC gamers never played it, so this remake is pretty much aiming for PC gamers besides Sony fans.

Judging my the number of posters here. Most of the SW crowd tends to forget this is coming to PC and as a PC gamer, I for one looking forward to this game as I said in my original post, I don't intend to pay full price as I'll buy it for less over at CDKey😎

Sure it will still have the same basic mechanical problems, like shoulder-swapping being restricted to the aiming mode.

Sony fans have been okay with double dipping for next gen upgrades and paying $70 for their games, and treating re-releases like new releases. This is just more of the same. So unless they want to start complaining about all that, I'd say that circumstantially this is just the byproduct of their complacency.

Its a pointless remake. I played the original again on the PS3 like one year ago and the game still holds very well graphically. I hope this remake flops cause I want this "remakes and remasters" fad to die off. More money and time thrown to remasters and remakes is less money and time thrown to brand new games and ideas. If people love the originals then go play the originals. I can understand a remake of a very old game in order to catter to brand new audiences but what new audience is this for? the game is still relatively recent and can be aquired easily on both PS3 and PS4... if this becomes a success this will become a precedent of remakes and remasters of 5 yo games with no need for it whatsoever. And again, no more ideas or new AAA ips cause publishers will become even more lazy and instead of betting on new IPs they'll just keep on releasing their well established ones over and over again but wait! Now with the resolution that goes along with the generation. Last gen was 1080p! Now is 4K! Next gen is 8K! ffs...

Have you actually played the game? Idk wtf you're talking about but the in game animations in TLoU2 are some of the best I've ever seen in gaming and the game plays exactly like what we've seen on that first gameplay trailer/walkthrough
