The game looks amazing so far, and they are planning 3000 animations(sounds pretty awesome) For those asking why it's hyped, it is because it is done by Naughty Dog. Creators of Crash on PS1 and Jak on PS2. They make great games.

It's being developed by the guys that produced the Jak series on PS2 as well as the technology behind that game and the Ratchet and Clank series. So the game has prove pedigree behind it. you are wrong about the tec part r&c did nout use jaks engine . ... you ppl need to read mag there is a ton of info on this game I'm quite sure that Insomniac did ask Naughty Dog to give them the Jak engine for R&C. Hence they look very similar. I heard that somewhere.

Actually Naughty Dog did supply Insomniac with some of the technology they used to make Ratchet and Clank, I remember Insomniac saying that during an episode of Icons.

Dude calm down, we still have not seen any in-game footage. And untill we do I still say we don't have enough info to justify hyping the game. Excitement maybe, but I'd hold back my hype if I were you.

its supposed to have PoP-like platforming with a GeoW-like shooting system. tilt sensing will be included as well(for events such as balancing on logs). and the game should look better in motion than it does on screens. they are using a hollywood motion capturing technique for the actions.
Of course the game looks awesome. Looks even better in motion. Between this and Rachet & Clank both dropping this year (not to mention White Knight Story, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, MGS & DMC), the PS3 definitely has the strongest lineup this year.
