Naughty Dog: "KZ2 has better tech than UC2' (56K)

Ok those are not the exact quotes but they did say in an interview at GDC that they look up to KZ2 and look at it "as an inspiration to what we can do". They stated that KZ2 deserved the Best Technology award at GDC. I personally think Uncharted 2is more advanced thanKZ2...maybe these guys are just being modest.

I never thought that KZ2 lost its crown. Although UC2 is more pleasing to the eye.

Honestly expected. KZ2 is doing way more, had more money put into it, and more devs. It is just UC2 has EVEN more linear/small places than KZ2, I feel bad for GG.

I always have given the edge to KZ2, but Uncharted 2 is more colorful.

Still, Both are just absolute gorgeous games.

Well KZ2 was mostly very linear, even more than UC2. Also the draw distance in some of the lvls in UC2 is way better than KZ2...is that not technical?

Well KZ2 was mostly very linear, even more than UC2. Also the draw distance in some of the lvls in UC2 is way better than KZ2...is that not technical?

I find it would be nearly impossible to be more linear than UC2. It has nice vistas.

If you think UC2 looks way better then KZ2 you don't own both games.

Yeah I always said that KZ2 was tech better in graphix than U2 but since Uncharted 2 is the pretty one out of the two, everyone says that U2 is betterRTUUMM

KZ2 facial animations aren't nearly as good as U2's, especially the in-game non-scripted scenes.

killzone 2 is more advanced/high tech then uncharted 2. the lighting, the explosions, the physics are all better then uncharted 2. uncharted 2 is just highly detailed. thats it. killzone 2 is more advanced

On consoles right? because ARMA and others. Anyway GTA4 on consoles was/is tech king when KZ2 was/wasn't out. I think it is between those two. For photorealism on consoles that goes to mirrior's egde.

kz2 has impressive volumetric effects for smoke and explosions and much better physics and lighting than uncharted2.

Alyx had such amazing animations in-game (not just during more scripted scenes).

KZ2 is flat out more impressive. UC2 is pretty and shiney......but it's still very video game like. KZ2 I can totally lose myself in. It's pretty amazing.

I don't think so. GOW3 has bad ground textures, but SM is good at hiding them(more power to them). Also so slightly low poly terrain, look at the rock etc, but they make it work because the edges look natural.

Question to SW: Do we have a graphics king for consoles then? I mean we are now comparing technical merits and not visual acuity. When it comes to technicals, I think a couple games stand up to KZ2.

I always thought Killzone 2 looked better than Uncharted 2. Both look amazing but I'm not into the darker looking graphics than I am vibrant colors. Plus the dynamic lighting in Killzone 2 is outstanding
