I know SW is not exactly the place where there is an exuberant passion for sports, but NBA 2K13 is absolutely phenomenal. This may be one of the most realistic and down right enjoyable sports games I've played in recent years, and I can see 2K13 possibly being GOTY. Hats off to Visual Concepts and 2K for creating an incredible experience, I recommend you put Dishonored back in its case and go out and purchase 2K13, it really is worth the $60.

Cool. The two sports I love best are soccer and basketball. I guess I'll be buying both FIFA 13 and NBA 2K13.

I want it so badly! Unfortunately for me, the PC version happens to be the red-headed step child out of the group-- will definitely buy it with some console bundle around Black Friday though. Glad it seems to be living up to expectations.

Ummmm no. EA has become laughable at sports games. No one in the industry even respects them anymore. I can't wait till 2k can make football games again so it can give Madden some competition again.

Must be one hell of a basketball game as it's getting AAA on every site. I hardly ever play those games but I'm considering picking up 2K13 in the future to see what the fuss is about.

im curious have you actually played fifa, its hands down the best footy game on the market.

And nothing is stopping 2k from making a footy game.

Not true, I can't play hockey but I love EA's NHL games far over 2K. I do play golf, so I like Tiger Woods, and I certainly can't race but I can enjoy racing games. Not being able to play the sport isn't an issue, it's whether the people enjoy the sport or have a passion for it.

No dude. American Football. 2k can't make American Football (NFL), because EA owns the rights to the NFL.

IMO, yes it's worth gettin 2k13. The new control scheme alone makes it worth the purchase.

GOTY on this site? no. As much as I would love to see the nerd-tears if it actually did win, GS and its parent company have a rep to uphold towards its stakeholders--most of which dont play sports games.

Damn, I have to agree with you, The last football game I really enjoyed was the last one 2k made. If anything, having 2 developers make the games would drive them each to be better, But I'm afraid EA will shell out the big money and lock the NFL down.

Gonna have to pass on this one since i already own NBA2k12 and i don't see the point of getting this version, however if it is anything like 2k12 then i'm sure is damn good and easily one of the best sports games ever made...but GOTY? not by a long shot.

I don't know if they would have killed madden off, but 2k was definitely heading in that direction before EA stepped in. Competition is good and I would like to think that EA would've gotten off their lazy asses and actually tried to compete with 2K.

I think the Madden's are ok and the NCAA is as well, just hate to see only one developer get to do, I think you're right too, they didn't cancel their basketball for the hell of it. In the end consumers loose though and my son likes football games, so I'm forced tog et what's available.

im forced to play whats available :cry: i need my football fix. NCAA is great but they're limited by the awful engine that madden is built on.

download the demo. it feels more like the good parts of 2k12 with the good parts of 2k11 and some old 2k techniques. (the fast break is way back)

I doubt it will change my mind, is not that i don't think it doesn't have the necessary elements to feel fresh, is just that i already got my sport gaming doses with 2k12 and i don't really buy sport games on a regular basis, then again i will download the demo and like i said, i'm sure is a hell of a game.

It's funny that in the one sport where EA made better games than 2K, baseball, 2K gets an exclusive deal.
