need help making a decision between xbox 360 and ps3

wow ok. well first let me say that i'm not really concerned with the game franchises like gears of war or metal gear solid: they're all great to me so i have no preference. most of the games i like come out on both the 360 and ps3. second, someone really made a good point: the ps3 still has a long time to run. i mean it only came out two years ago, so sony isn't gonna develop a ps4 for a long time (which is what i want). also, if i have to pay 50 bucks a year for online gameplay for the xbox while sony's is free, then damn i might as well get the ps3. yeah i know, i'm poor but i'm goin through some hard times like a lot of us. but i just hate sending things back to companies to get repaired, idk why i just don't like it. as for now, i am leaning towards the ps3 and i do have to money to afford a brand new one along with a game. i hope to hear some more so i can get some more info on stuff. but another point was made....every console has an equal chance of breaking, but at the same time so far the ps3's hasn't caused so much anger and disappointment as much as the rrod for the 360. i'm going off the history here, and despite i'm leaning towards the ps3 i'd still like to hear more.Freedom24-7

Secondly believe me when i say this, if your looking for long term gaming.PS3 is the best choice.You do know that because you are a PS2 user and its a fact that Sony never dissapoints its customers in the long term.Just wondering,have you seen the original xbox lately ? The same thing is happening with the 360.Lack of alot of next gen multimedia features,examples full hd and blu ray.Less majoy upcoming exclusives.All are the symptoms of Xbox 360 aging.The time of 360 is finishing.

Lastly,its all upto you.To be honest both consoles are considerably good but i personally think that going for the PS3 would be a wise choice.Not saying that 360 sucks,but just saying that because of the turning tables lately.Ps3 has alot to look forward to in the near future.Some of that includes Heavy rain,Killzone 2,Grand Turismo,Little big planet and God WAr 3.In terms of multimedia PS3 is HANDS down better.I dont think i need to go into detail regarding multimedia.In the end its all upto you.Make a wise choice and best of luck with your purchase :).

well u can get a brand new 360 since its dirt cheap now.

for 360, u can get a more extensive library of games than the ps3 for the moment and its cheap.

only thing is theres a risk of the rrod like u mentioned.

for ps3, its more expensive and has few exclusive games worth getting right now. though after the fall releases, the library mgiht be on par with 360.

so make the choice urself and stick with it. if not u might regret down the road

you should think about what features you're looking for in a console b4 making a decision.

If you want a media hub that can double as a media center as well as to watch tv easily, go with the ps3.

If you want a deeper selection of games go with the 360, 360 has a bigger and better selection of exclusive titles, and many previous exclusive ps3 titles have become multi platform: think gta think final fantasy.

Wait until MS actually announces futures games. Cows say this every single year, and then when we actually get into that year MS fills in thier lineup. MS doesn't announce all their games years before they come out like sony does. All are the symptoms of Xbox 360 aging.
