2008 (in order)

1. Metal Gear Solid 4 = GOTY
2. LittleBigPlanet
3. Fallout 3
4. Left 4 Dead
5. Gears of War 2

7. Dead Space

10. Braid

They just pick whatever games they want to vote for (up to ten) , and award higher points to the higher picks and post the results.

What do you think of their list ? Better than Gamespot's ? Terrible list ? They got it right ?

I was wondering if we should do the same thing for System Wars users' Games of the Year in about a month - give people a chance to finish up a 2008 game or 2. What do you think ?

I'm in no hurry. I wasnt a fan of MGS:TS or MGS2 (I didnt even finish MGS2 and I am really good about finishing games)

exactly what is the ratio of gameplay to cutscenes in MGS4. I know that you watch 11 minutes of cutscenes before you finally gain control of Snake at the begining of the gameGuybrush_3

Whatever the length of the cutscenes are (which I don't know) , subtract that from 24 hours and there you would have my gameplay time. The great thing is though , the gameplay is terrific and there's enough of it imo. There's a good chance you'll want to play it again (skip the cutscenes if you like) and play through differently and use different weapons , items , and tactics , because the way they set up the game is brilliant. It's a replayable game to be sure if you're the type that replays games in general.

Magnificent game indeed, it truly deserves the award,

Gamespot, Neogaf and others made the right decision,

Some may disagree, but that's just too bad,

4th in a legendary series, the game met expectations,

Greatness of this magnitude is truly rare,

Of course, many great games were released this year,

Though this masterpiece clearly trumps them all,

They are just a forum. However the majority of the posters on there are a lot more mature and rational than you get on other forums ( there are acceptions ). A lot of gameing jounalists and developers post there alot as well so more often than not news appears there first. That list had close to 1500 people voting so I take that before any major publications view
