On PC you can do this on your smaller, higher rez monitor so it looks MUCH better.

On a serious note, though, the selection is pretty limited, so I don't really see Netflix instant streaming as a preferable alternative to renting DVDs, much less Blu Rays, from BlockBuster, or even better, Netflix.
What about 360 owners in the UK who don't have access to Netflix? I think I'll take Blu-Ray movies and the web browser over something I can't actually use. Although we don't have a PSN movie store in Europe yet and Live does, so that evens it out.

Lemmings forget that we had a video store since summer, we could the ps3 internet to go to netflix, and we have blu-ray. The ps3 is pretty much set when it comes to movies.

yes it is cheaper, but the quality of the hd stream from netflix is NO WHERE near the quality of a blu ray disk.

Do you have idea idea how 'beasty' your internet would have to be, to stream HD? And it's compressed like hell. It's not a true HD.
any ps3 user can download PlayOn to stream their play now movies to their ps3's, heck for that matter the lemmings could do this aswell. Play now movies on Netflix isn't somthing to get worked up about lol, most are pretty old with the occasional newer movie thrown in. But Netflix to get bluray movies for the ps3 is a definite win :)
oh please.. .you and I know the netflix streaming are old movies and tv shows. tell me what current new tv shows and movies are on Netflix? is HOuse, Simspons, Family Guys? Southpark?? American Idols when it's on soon?? you know Ps3 + Hulu you can watch all those.

netflix is cool. I have been using the free trail for a week (almost finish) and while its cool, im not renewing. The stuff they have for instant watch is down right laughable. Though the speedy service of DVD in the mail is ok, ill rather get it instant. The picture quality on instant is always pretty good. You see every wrinkle and detail, almost as if you are playing directly from the disc. I know more new movies or w/e is promise for instant watch to be added but how long will that take? Months, years?

On the 360, you're PAYING money to rent and stream movies to watch on a console developed for GAMING.

I;m a 360 guy, and even I know the PS3 can do Netflix as well...:roll: Also, PS3 can surf the net with Flash Support, for sites like HULU (Something I wish my 360 could do).
The PS3 also has a movie section where unlike my 360, you can take the movies and put them on PSP, Computer, Cell Phone. YOu can own or rent on PS3 movies.
Futhermore, Bluray anyone?
Lets not talk about movies and PS3, lets keep it to the reason we bought a 360, it came out a year before, and had more games due to that.Games.

So every movie on PSN is free?? Didnt think so lol. And i can already watch Hulu on my 360 2 different ways, with Tversity, and thru windows media center. almost every show thats on hulu, netflix has already from The office, to heros, to Law & order, its not just old stuff!! although the original incredible hulk tv show rocks lol

I have neftlix on my 360, and most of the stuff you can stream is all old movies. Really not impressive.

I have neftlix on my 360, and most of the stuff you can stream is all old movies. Really not impressive. well the "watch now" movies have to be at least a year old before Netflix can stream them. Its done this way so that it doesnt hurt DVD sales, or money the movie company gets for rentals. Its the same reason why movies on PSN and XBL arent free. That said, there are a whole lot of movies that are pretty new, and even more new TV shows are on now (the office, heroes, lost, CSI: Miami). I think you should look around a little more :P
