yay... justforlotr posted this in the press conference thread... it looks great...wolverine4262
Oh, I forgot to check there. What do you think about it?
we Xbox 360 owners dont need to be impressed by just a update, unlike PS3 owners who get all excited for a update thanks for the lack of games.

But it has cool features. XNA, party system, etc.
Primetime games a sort of funny. Next gametime: 7:30, lol. I'm pretty sure they said these were free. You actually stream them.

explain this lack of games part? i see theres many fanboy.
I actually really do not like that. Especially those terrible avatars. Might be a little better than the existing dashboard but I don't see how anyone could like that giant icon crap.
Don't get me wrong the new features are awesome but that interface and the avatars look god awful imo.

It looks alot better then the dashboard we have now. IMO anyway.
[QUOTE="Jared2720"]That looks remarkably similar to the PS3's XMB.TREAL_Since
It's an upgraded, sleeker looking XMB.

Whatever you say. I hate to see 360 owners seem all high and mighty. New features in this update would make anyone excited and impressed. I can't wait.
Love it. Reminds me of Vista's window...flip thing (which I never actually use, but it looks amazing). After I watched that video and turned on my 360 I wished they had released it much sooner.same

Good:
- Very sleek look
- New community features
- New movie features
Bad:
- Avatars
- Being forced to create one

I still would like to see a more comprehensive video...But, im not worried b/c the new guide is essentially the old dashboard...It runs very smoothly, looks appealing, and still offers great functionality[QUOTE="Mamba_Negra"]we Xbox 360 owners dont need to be impressed by just a update, unlike PS3 owners who get all excited for a update thanks for the lack of games.

im sorry... i really like the ps3 also... but go into any game store and you will see a lack of games compared to the 360... yes it has been out longer which is probably why but still... lack of games on the ps3 is not false.

I actually like the avatars more than the bland gamerpics we have now.
I have to ask... do we play games anymore?foxhound_fox
No. This feature prohibits one from playing games.

I like them too, even though they are Mii rip offs. I just had to think of something for bad.

It more resembles Windows Media Center IMO...

Agree, I am looking forward to Netflix thing, that sounds very cool, also being able to sit and watch them with people on your friends list sounds great. It is amazing on how far we came.
But I really don't like the idea of Avatars. It may turn out to be very cool, but I am not sure, sofar to me it is just a Mii knock off.
Also, I wounder if they will have themes still? I hope they at least have gamer-pics... Because I don't want a ugly mii.Truth_Hurts_U
I can see themes working, not sure on Gamer-pics.
EDIT: Maybe with Gamer-pics it would be a new face for you little Mii knock off.

I think we will be able to put a wallpaper in the background. I hope so. But if not, it's all good.
I have to ask... do we play games anymore?foxhound_foxNo, games are so from the past now, there's more important things like the dashboard and all that stuff...
im sorry, but are people only talking about the avatars? is it really THAT much of a problem? lawlessx
They have to find something to counter the greatness of the update. I'm 50/50 on them as of now though.

Xbox Live Community Games - Also launching this Fall is Xbox Live Community Games, which is the channel for the user-created games from their XNA software. We got a small taste of some of these creations earlier this year and were quite impressed with some of them. A few of the games shown include Colosseum, Hot Potato, and Word Soup. We're not sure yet whether or not these games will include achievements, but we'll be sure to let you know any details when we find out.
now THIS needs more attention
