Original Story:Microsoft has announced that the new Xbox 360 wireless adapter will go on sale in the US this week for $99.99.

The new adapter is a dual-antenna effort which supports the 802.11a/b/g standards and the new, faster802.11n.

The latter will be necessary for anybody who hopes to stream 1080p videos over the Zune Marketplace when that launches.

We've asked Microsoft UK for news on a local release date and pricing, but have yet to hear back. The new adapter is currently not listed by UK e-tailers

Update:Microsoft has told Eurogamer that the new adapter will launch in the UK on 20th November priced £59.99.

Cool. Another arm and a leg for features that should already be included in a Next-Gen console!

Any wireless adaptor will work with the PS3 anyhow. Ask anyone with the original 40gig PS3 from launch.

N is uneeded though. G supports up to 54mbps, the same speed as Blu-ray. I stream hi bitrate 1080p content from my PC to my PS3 over the built-in Wi-Fi just fine.

Wired is good enough for me. If everything else in your house is wi-fi, I think people often think they have to have wi-fi 360 rather than realize that if everything else in your house is wi-fi, it doesn't matter if you move your router to where your 360 is so you can connect it via cable.

As I just stated G has plenty of bandwidth for HD streaming. MIMO is overkill for a home network. It would make sense if MU MIMO was a standard part of N (concurrent HD streams) but its not. MIMO is only used for one connection at a time.

Within the context of the topic it certainly does. Netflix, DirecTV, Dish Network, etc all offer HD streaming over a much smaller pipe (generally less than 10mbps) than what N provides.

i think they should up the price of controllers to $100 as well. there's nothing like overcharging for things that should be included in the first place.

why dont they just allow users to use a PC compatible USB wi-fi adapter on 360?
