Silly Microsoft... when will you learn?

[QUOTE="wayne_kar"][QUOTE="RedruM_I"]And the milkage continues.... :DRedruM_Ii would of though Sony will need to bring one out too though. wonder how much they charge Eh... Sony's wifi comes with the package. That's the opposite of milking. However, the WiFi in the PS3 is much slower than this new adapter for the 360. Nice to have choices, isn't it? :)
i think they should up the price of controllers to $100 as well. there's nothing like overcharging for things that should be included in the first place.starwarsjunky
Like Dual Shock 3 when it first came out?
Sucks for ther people that had to pay $50+ JUST for rumble.

Yep. Exactly. Stupid companies overpricing things. $100 for Wifi? Rip off.
[QUOTE="ndawgdrake"]802.11n wasn't out then. or if it was it was crazy expensiveCool. Another arm and a leg for features that should already be included in a Next-Gen console!
wayne_kar
To drake - Last time I checked, the included wi-fi on the PS3 was a/b/g no N anywhere in site.
Actually it was out and not very expensive. Considering they charge $600 for the console anyway, they could have thrown it in.
Sure, I have to pay extra, but at least I have the choice. wired, G or N network.

What I don't understand is how MS can have these commercials that bash Apple for overcharging on their computers, yet do the same exact thing with their 360 accessories.
speed of you provider has nothing to do with streaming HD. and for MIMO to be effective you need more than 1 antena[QUOTE="wayne_kar"][QUOTE="furomaster_99"]There is G mimo(multi in multi out) and it works just fine. I get almost the same speed as a wired connection with mine. It's really more of a case as to how fast your service provider is.
skektek
Within the context of the topic it certainly does. Netflix, DirecTV, Dish Network, etc all offer HD streaming over a much smaller pipe (generally less than 10mbps) than what N provides.
They do that with compressed video and audio, to the point where you get really noticable digital artifacts and tearing as well as loads of noise (especially in dark scenes or objects). Sure, they can call it HD, but is it really? Just like the $25 dollar MP3 player at Wal-Mart. Yeah, it's an MP3 player that plays music, but it's no iPod.The typical microsoft. Over pricing things that arent even quality. I would rather buy this from a nother company because we know how bad Microsoft hardware is.
PLEASE DO NOT BUY THAT THE LIK BELOW IS A FAR BETTER SOLUTION TRUST ME:D

Really? If you think about it, Sony and MS are about equal. Sony's first two consoles were riddled with problems. The original Xbox could take a bullet, and keep working. I still have my launch original Xbox. This is the first time Sony got it right, kinda. The PS3 still has problems. We all know the 360 used to have it'sfar share ofproblems. So far, though, I have never had any problems with the 360's accessories. I have two Zunes, and one Zune HD. Never had a single problem with them. The typical microsoft. Go ahead, and put as much fanboy spin on it you want, no company is perfect.
Just stick with wired, or if you need wireless, i recommend this. From my observations it works alot better than the g adapter, plus it works with the PS3, and PC as well.

Defending Microsoft is like defending Fox News. Even if the competition is also evil/idiots, more people think MS/Fox/whatever is the bigger of two or more evils.

Just to let you know, I had four Xbox's last generation. I bought all four of them Brand new, I treat all my consoles with super care, I don't smoke, I don't play in nonventilated areas.
Back then the Xbox only had a 90 day WARRANTY!!!
As you can see in my sig, I did play my consoles a lot last generation too. Yes, I did get a DRE on PS2, only one, but I can vouch that sucked too. My point was the Xbox was not some sort of super machine at all.
I still have Two working Halo Models, but my first two burned out. The Xbox was shoddy, but with the lower install base, there were just less complaints. I would assume you must have heard of this error :
"This disc is dirty or damaged, please insert an Xbox Disc". DRE's were popular last gen, but the larger install base will obviously have more complainers.
My buddy owns a computer and console repair franchise, and the Xbox repairs were just as popular for his stores across the states.
[QUOTE="skektek"][QUOTE="wayne_kar"] no 802.11n it doesnt. if you want to steam HD you need nwayne_kar
N is uneeded though. G supports up to 54mbps, the same speed as Blu-ray. I stream hi bitrate 1080p content from my PC to my PS3 over the built-in Wi-Fi just fine.
G just doesnt cut the musterd for streaming HD. N uses MIMO which give a much more reliable signal.I agree.
I get drop out issues when streaming HD from my little dedicated media Server at home to the PS3. No problem on the PCs.
There is a way to get a USB N adaptor to work for the PS3 but it is just too much hassle to set one up.
With the amount of HD digital content and home media servers and clients you need a stable wireless network.
I recently got my self a Cisco- Linksys WRT610N Dual band N Wireless router that splits streams into 2 seperate frequecies.
The typical 24 ghz and one at 5ghz- which is great for playing games, big file transfers and streaming HD videos while keeping the 2.4 ghz free from congestion.
All the PCs in the house are Wireless N, I will get that for the Xbox360, but it would be a shame if the PS3 does not have that support because I normally use it to watch videos.

way to contradict yourself there

The milk a product that is not necessarily needed, and overprice it... and yet people still buy it.

How did I contradict myself? I never said anyone was forced to buy DS3. But the people that did want to, HAD to pay $50, before Sony bundled it with the PS3. There were a lot of PS3 owners that wanted it.[QUOTE="RedruM_I"]And the milkage continues.... :Dawssk8er716

come again?
not needed?
the only issue is the pricing not the fact that I have over 10 clients on my networkand I have a ridiculous amount of HD content on my media server and the achilles heal to my Home Theatre set up is because my network chokes up when ever I try to watch 1080p from the wireless N router to a PS3.
I promised my lil cousin a wireless adaptor because his birthday was yesterday so I guess I get him this one next month.
I actually have no problem with the price and I do know that Microsoft does nickel and dime. That's business.
I do have a problem if there are no other alternatives that can be used with the Xbox360.
I'm still ticked over MS not allowing use of other storage devices on the console and only use what is approved by them.
If I found another adapter from a third party that is comparable and is cheaper I will go for it, I will not be impressed if MS limits customers choices in what alternatives can be used.
On a side note.
If there are more hardware devices for the PS3 for better streaming and performance I would be all over it.
When did PS3 get wireless N??
How is it being milked, when Xbox 360 is the only one that has Wireless N

No it's Sony at its finest, provide the cheapest slowest alternative to anything then brag because it;s free. If I needed Wifi, I would want the best possible, not the slowest...
Wow damage control at its finest by some of the most notorious lems.. I could make a book out of all the lem quotes... it would be one of the greatest comedies ever. Come on now son, Your accusing Sony of being cheap? By putting a built in wifi "G" speed in the system? Come on now. "N" wasn't around back when the ps3 launched, and "G" is fast enough for anything. You lems do realize that "G" is fast enough for multi-media right? M$ has you by the - thinking that you need this new $99 adaptor... thats just what they want and you lems are falling for it like always, hook line and sinker. Seriously, accusing sony of being cheap putting the best wifi of the time in the ps3 when the 360 doesn't even offer it in the box... this is some bad damage control. IF M$ told you to jump off a bridge would you? Oh wait lemmings .... never mind.Very useless & a big waste of money. I or anyone else can just take an Ethernet cable & plug it on one end on the back of your 360 & the other end to your computer or laptop (with internet access, of course). That way, you'll have a much better connection & a much better signal. Wired is always better than wireless for online gaming, anyways.
I can just go out & buy a refurbished 120 GB HDD with that money. Speaking of HDD's, if their newest bundle came with a 250 GB HDD, & if it happens to be sold separately, I can't imagine how much it will be. Getting the 120 GB HDD is already at $150 enough as it is.
Drop your prices, MS!

But cows don't want to stream the highest possible picture quality, they are happy with their free mediocre connection....
MzFit, yet again, you come with your answers which you decided to make up in your mind before posting. The wi-fi in the PS3 is not "slow". It was basically the same thing as the OLD $100 wi-fi MS sold. You never called that slow did you? Now this comes out, and basically now everything that is not this new wi-fi is slow?
Fanboys never learn, I guess

Yea, you fanboys that seemed to miss the part where I said 'IF I NEEDED WIFI.' My wired connection is STILL faster then the Sony Wifi and if I wanted Wifi, I would want the faster alternative. Can you comprehend that?
