Correct me if I'm wrong. Is that associated press? If so, this is a reliable source. This topic is locked from further discussion.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Is that associated press? If so, this is a reliable source.[QUOTE="FrenziedRaldo24"]Motorstorm and an extra 20GB's onto an already ample HDD is worth an extra $100?
No, sony:|

Then buy a 500$ model that has nothing. Considering the 60gb model is IMO well worth the money, this new bundle is most definitely worth the cash. I actually haven't bought a PS3 yet, been holding off like many have been for the price drop.
Well, the $500 model is indeed what im going for. But clearly the"2 B Elite"is just another attempt by Sony to cover the losses of the lesser unit, much like what the Premium used to be (because they lose more money on the lower-end model)
Just to equal it out: Motorstorm on it's own sells for $60. Is $40 reasonable for another 20GB's on-top of already ample memory, and when you can just swap it out on your own with a 120GB+HDD for a better deal in the long run? I don't think so.
And knowing Sony and their packaging record, Motostorm wont even come with a Manual or case. In fact, it might just be preloaded onto the HDD, using up a few of those precious extra gigs.

Wow the old model will have Motorstorm bundled with the system... Wow... official bundles already?! At least put in Resistance!
Now that puts the PS3 at 3 sku's... just like the Xbox360. Glad cows will stop using that excuse now.
Think about it this way though. I can buy a Core Xbox 360 and a 120 gig HD for cheaper (180+300=$480) Which is still cheaper than the PS3's 60 gig unit after the price drop.
Isnt the elite 479?
Yes but he was talking about uprgrading and I have to work with what his argument gives me :P
[QUOTE="hockeyruler12"]consumers wont take notice...they will still see a PS3 for $600, and a PS3 for $500...just as it was earlier
the 20 GB didnt sell...so they discontinued it. Dropping the price might help it, but adding another unit with a $600 price tag wont

Only reason 20GB didnt sell was because it didnt have silver trim..
Didn't it lack features too? I don't remember all the differences but I think it lacked wifi and/or bluetooth too.
well it's official now ps3 wil take this christmas by storm with the new lower price point and awesome games.-RenegadeHow is this "official?" Did somebody come from the future and clue you in Sony's upcoming and unexpected dominance this Christmas or are you just trying to add validity to non-founded hype by preceding with "it's official"?
