Pffft, Other than 1 minor problem, the digital pad which I never use to control in game characters, the controller is perfection even if some hardcore Sony fanboys have trouble admitting it. :o
But to be fair, all are intilted to their opinion and preference so... Just sayin. :P

Yes, the 360 controller's D-Pad is god-awful. But that's not the only thing the DS3 has over the 360 controller IMO. That's definitely the BIGGEST problem, but there are little things that the DS3 is just better than the 360 controller at(how important they are is up to you though).First off, batteries+wireless. The DS3 doesn't require a play and charge kit or AA batteries at all, and you can recharge it as you're playing and the DS3 comes with Wireless no matter what. Everything is perfect right out of the box, and there's no buying any periphrials necessary.
Second off, Buttons. This basically boils down to preference, but I definitely prefer the DS3's more traditional "soft" flat style buttons to the 360 controller's clickier more rounded "hard" oval-shaped buttons. However, the best example of superior buttons on the DS3 isn't the face buttons, but R1/L1. They just feel way better than the tiny, overly-clicky RB/LB and are easier to access with your fingers sliding up from R2/L2 compared to having to lift them up from RT/LT IMO. I chalk this up as an advantage for the DS3 due to the fact that the DS3 buttons are way more traditional and similar to the types of buttons we've been using for decades now(NES, Sega Master System, SNES, PS1, PS2, Game Boy, etc) so they will feel more familiar to the average person who has never played a PS3 or 360 before.
Thirdly, you don't have to plug your headset into the DS3 like you do with the 360 controller so there's less cords to deal with when you're using a headset. This is especially better if you have a true gaming headset like Trittons or Turtle Beaches, where there's already more than enough cords to begin with. You're not "bound" to the controller when you're using a headset with the DS3 like you are with the 360 controller. I don't know how many times I was talking to people on XBL and forgot the headset was plugged into the controller and I stood up to do something and the controller went flying off the table. You won't ever have this problem with the DS3.
Fourthly and lastly, analog stick size+attributes. Again, this can vary from person to person but I'm a 6'5" man with large fingers and the taller+wider shaped analog sticks of the DS3 fit my fingers much better. And I definitely prefer the rubbery texture of the DS3 analogs to the 360 controller's plasticy analogs. And when you first get a new 360 controller, the analogs have these little plastic bumps on them that start to hurt your fingers during a long gaming session, this gets annoying especially if you're playing FPS games where your thumbs are constantly on the analogs(these bumps wear down over time though). And on top of all of this(and possibly more important) the analogs on the 360 controller are proven to have a larger overall deadzone than the DS3 analogs, and are also tighter, making it harder to aim more smoothly compared to the DS3. HOWEVER I will say the 360 controller's advantage in size hurts the DS3's analogs bit due to them getting really close to each other when pushing the left analog to the right and the right analog to the left, your thumbs can hit up against each other. A size increase in the DS3 could fix this problem though(Damn you Sony, make some Man-Sized controllers for us! Not everyone is the same size so why should we have the same sized controllers?!?)
So yeah, I do feel that the 360 controller has the overall advantage in size, shape, and triggers but I feel that the DS3 has the overall advantage in buttons, the analog sticks themselves, D-Pad, wireless, batteries, and headsets. It all depends on what you care the most about and what's the most important to you. I can see why people think the 360 controller is the best, and I can see why people think the DS3 is the best. But to call either one of them "PERFECT" is a lie.
