Just click on the video on the tweet.

Looks like a return to the classic form? I hope so. I'm still holding a bit of skepticism but at least it looks like classic battlefield

No point in getting hyped. They tried to hype 2042 and it was a piece of shit. EA has fucked BF fans too many times now and lost the trust and faith of the community.

Andrew Wilson says it will be "another tremendous live service" though. What a kunt.

@BassMan: I not hyped as well, but at least the BF3 vibes it gives picqued my interest. I will never preorder an EA game, even if the teaser/trailer looks good.

The Last 3 BF games all sucked ass, and I don't care what anyone says.., they all did.. like majorly. That said, I absolutely loved BF4, it's easily one of my favorite shooters of all time.

If it's anything like 3,4,Hardline, or Bad Company I'm in, but if not they can keep it.

EA ruins everything. I'm still mad about C&C.

@pclover1980: Already a thread on this but since that's a tweet only, I guess it's fine.

I feel that Hardline was the weakest Battlefield game in the series. Pure sh*t.

Looking forward to it. With the exception of BF 2042, the last few BF games have been really great. As they don't get spammed as much as CoD, it's easy to forget that BFV (2018) was a great installment, as was BF1 (2016).

It sounds like they are "returning to form" (then again they said that about DA Veilguard...) which is good, and I do enjoy the modern era the most.

I would like to see some of the more casual "mil sim" components perhaps incorporated into the game though. Pick and choose some good things from games like Squad, Hell Let Loose, and ArmA. I think gamers are ready for a bit more realism, a bit more tactics. Let COD be the arcade game; BF can be the higher stakes game. For example:

  • Add a more in-depth inventory system, perhaps a paper-doll/RPG style system where you can pick and choose how many magazines of each type you get, mix and match grenade types, armor size (light, med, heavy), and so on.
  • Remove health regen and add in an injury system; would add a ton of depth to the medic gameplay loop, as it'd be less about zapping people and more about healing.
  • Add buildable fortifications.
  • Larger map, with dynamic spawn zones depending on what you've built.
  • Artillery batteries.
  • To drive vehicles, you have to spawn as a driver class (that has weaker individual weaponry but can drive vehicles).

I'm not going to hype this game right now. The last Battlefield game that I liked was Battlefield 1.

I really hope that this new one turns out good.

Still haven't really enjoyed BF since Bad Company 2.

Surprised to see so much love for BF3, BF4, BF1, BFV. That's when it started to be shit. BF1 was ok I guess, but not even close to as fun as BC2.

@ghostofgolden: suspension of disbelief.

I know ww1 didn't have a ton of automatic weapons. I know soldiers weren't dressed in medieval armor carrying around a 50 pound MG firing in from the hip like Rambo fires his M60.

Yet, when I actually visited these places like Fort De Vaux they looked exactly like the game.

When you make your war game set in fantasy locations with fantasy soldiers I start to lose interest. The suspension of disbelief has faded.

@Litchie: Battlefield 1 and V was all about Operations and Frontlines for me. They felt like large or small scale battles respectively.

Bad Company 2 was all about Rush and I haven't really cared for Conquest in a long time.

Tried to get into the Battlefield games several times but they just don’t hook me like Call of Duty does. Will probably pass on this.
