@m3dude1:
lol why are you so angry? who cares?

the real question is how empty, boring and lifeless will WD2 be? I'd imagine its lifeless/10
I expect it to be huge improvement like Assassin's Creed 2 but later they'll slowly turn it into cash cow .
Meh, i think London could really work for this game but they seem set on passing it up. Shame.
Omg London would be amazing. You would have like 5 second intense car chases before everybody gets stuck in traffic.
Bad humor aside, I would very much appreciate them using an original city for once. So not New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles.
I know Non-American cities tend to have a bad layout for these games and the weird shapes in buildings and roads would take more time to recreate. The roads are just too complex with too many corners so you can't speed through the city which sucks. And the more complex traffic situations would require extra work on the A.I. Kinda makes me sad because it would give us some much needed variation in game-cities. I'd rather have them create a fake city than use one of the standard cities.
Or what about a compromise? Maybe recreate a city like Rome, but just change it to make it work well. Or Amsterdam, or London, or whatever. Don't stay faithful to the original city, just preserve the original vibe. I'd love that.
Watch dogs was ok at best. It had some neat ideas but really botched execution
I mean who the hell can't blind fire in a game in 2014 or just fire without having to aim?
Is this game worth buying?
I wouldn't buy it based on the problems others are having. But, I got mine free with my video card. So, no real complaints from me.
If it's just as uninteresting and dead as their rendition of Chicago it won't matter.
I'd love if they set it in a semi-futuristic version of japan, we really don't get many games set in asia and they really have no excuse not to, it's not like with GTA where they depend on parodying american culture.
I'd settle for China as well, Just something entirely different.
step 1 is actually getting a good protagonist, don't even make any nods towards aiden pierce, disregard he even existed.

I'll wait till it comes to PS+ or GFG then. Thx for the heads up.

yeah, or perhaps something like Berlin would be awesome aswell

I think guns being less available would be good too, in Watchdogs i just went and got the best grenade launcher, silenced pistol and best assault rifle and i was set for the rest of the game. The game became easier to just play as a standard sandbox tps, i wound up hacking less as i could just blast my way out of any situation and the silence rifle and pistol were more quiet than the hacks.
I think the traffic would wind up fine, GTA has done places like NY and just reduced the traffic so it's not too mental.
Too bad Los Angeles was taken by GTA V. There's so many diverse terrain in its vicinity: ocean and beaches, urban jungle, snow-capped alpine forests, arid/desert, lush green forests. Every other city pales in comparison.
Please NOT New York. I'm sick of it, 'twas on lots of games.
well it's better than New Jersey tbh
the real question is how empty, boring and lifeless will WD2 be? I'd imagine its lifeless/10
WTF are you talkin about? I completely disagree. I felt WD Chicago was some of the most vivid sandbox cities ever made only behind GTA. It just felt every NPC had a story of its own, especially if you search for privacy hacks.

It was as alive as Infamous SS...
Fuckin New Jersey. Who wants to run around in a shit hole like Jersey!? Then again, it would be fun to kill some guidos....
Guido's in Camden? lol ok buddy whatever you say.
Camden would be ok but its pretty small compared to Chicago. They could go for a Philly/Camden combo since they're right next to each other. That would be sweet.
Well, I would hardly claim to be an expert on the comings and goings of guidos, nor the social makeup of America's biggest shit-hole.

I played both. Not even close. Try again
Couldn't be less excited.... truly the most lifeless sandbox game to date.
I seriously cant understand this complaint. If WD was the most lifeless sandbox game for you then you havent played many sandox games. I can name you plenty of snadbox games that felt to me more lifeless than WD chicago: Mafia 2, Mercenaries 2, Saints Row series, Infamous series, Just Cause series, No More Heroes 1, etc, etc. I come to realise W_D is being a victim of its own commercial success once again. The city felt as alive as any GTA game to me, only on a more serious tone than GTA cities use to be. How can people say the city felt empty when pretty much any NPC had a background of its own? When every sidequest told a story of its own? When privacy hacks revealed several interesting stories of their own?
I feel most saying WD felt empty didnt explore the game as it should have. Probably beat the story mode and finished with it. Theres an overwhelming side of things to explore in Chicago and no one with a straight face can say the city felt "lifeless".
Yes, the visual downgrade and all the lying from Ubisoft pissed me off aswell but thats no reason to bash the game for things its not a culprit of. For me its the best new gen game so far and very much deserved the commercial success and the good critical praise
@Vatusus: I'm not suggesting that watchdogs is lifeless in the "LANoire" sense that there is a massive city with literally nothing to do, but I am suggesting that the ubisoft , paint by number, game design mixed with a city, characters, and events that almost never raises your pulse once is both highly predictable, and wholely underwellming... lifeless. There isn't an ounce of ID driving me back to that city and that world... people walk around, cars can be stolen, clothes can be bought, and the main gameplay hook of being a tech lord over the city quickly becomes stale... and that is truly the only thing separating it from every other city sandbox. Everything in that game has been done before and very little of that world begs you to come back. That's lifeless to me.
I put I'd say 25 hours into watch dogs. I hit my stride around hours 5-15, enjoyed the online hacking games tremendously until I felt like I was racing from mission to mission to avoid being hacked because I wasn't in the mood (can't shut it off or your stats and perks return to zero). Broke up more than my fair share of caravans... did as many side missions as I could muster and tried my damn destiny to let the story sink me in... at the end of the day and 25 hours of exploration, I surmised that watch dogs did nothing for me to make me come back... I don't bash games for graphics or commercial successes, I actually think that's lame as lame can be, but the game to me on a whole was lifeless common fare and I'm not hyped for a sequel...
I honestly hope ubi proves me wrong....

Then you know how lifeless these both are... You will not find a sanbox on the market that is more lifeless that WD. WD set standards is the lifelessness!
This is NOT a new city for WD2, this is DLC for Watch_Dogs.
yeah it's been confirmed now, but it wasn't when i did the post

WD city felt pretty much alive to me. None of the Infamous games did. I enjoy infamous btw. comparing both cities is just wrong

I know, I was just mention it since no one else did.
I just finished the game, the teaser at the end that other cities will have the same thing is making me believe that it's going to be New York or Boston next
