I'm not hyping this game or anything but it gets way to much hate in my opinion. If this game happens to score good i'll be laughing my ass off.

meh the conduit looks like great fun to me ,not aaa material but ive been craving a run and gun fps since timesplitters and i guess the conduit can fill that void for me
[QUOTE="bobbetybob"]Who cares, I want it to be a dumb corridor shooter, I just want a game where I can run and gun like the old days, rather than all the FPS now where you have to use cover or wait for health to recharge every 5 seconds.angelkimneYou have a 360, you can all ready find plenty of dumb but fun corridor shooters. Dual analog makes dumb corridor shooters a lot less fun.

I still hold out hope for the story, but really, this is how I feel about most sci-fi/war shooters these days.
I'm seeing this as something very good to play if you only own a Wii. For anyone else, games like KZ2, Halo, or CoD may be better suited for them. yoshi_64
No. the wii-mote is the only solution that gives you the accesibility of a gamepad without the gimped aiming of dual analog.
I own a Ps3, I own a gaming PC. I can't wait for this game-
why do people keep praising the wii's fps controls, they are really bad imo SAGE_OF_FIREThen they must not be really bad in other people's opinion. Seems obvious.
I've really never understood the immense hype level for this game.yoshi_64
I've never really noticed the immense hype level for this game.
I'm personally ok with Gamepads though, yeah I love my M/KB controls too, and yes I do like the Wii mote too (I've played Wii mote FPSes too like CoD and MoH) but I'm referring to the fact that people have other games out there to play as well. The controls will be great no doubt, as they are totally customizable, something all console FPSes don't offer (Like KZ 2, I'm looking at you) and so that's a great plus. However, the other factors of the game have yet to impress me, it seems like other corridor type shooters since 007 on the N64 frankly. Sure that was a great game, not putting it down, but I'm just saying it's also one of many millions that took inspiration from that game as well.[QUOTE="yoshi_64"]

Outside of GS, there has been A LOT from media sources like IGN, Nintendo Power, and so on, to here in GS on the Wii forums or other forums as well. There's a lot of hype for this game. I've seen at least.[QUOTE="skrat_01"]Pretty much echos what I have been repeating after reading about the game a while back. There is nothing about the design that stands out. Judging a Wii game purely off its technical limits is simply stupid.... and the FPS genre is already saturated with average design. You need to stand out, and do something unique, other than 'that Wii shooter with visuals that are great for the system, but poor compared to the others'. yoshi_64I'm cautiously optimistic that there's something we've yet to see about the game that will stand out, or even that the game may have a pretty good story and entertaining one to hold your interest, as well as a solid and fun online multiplayer experience (though that will be something that can be hard to do with Nintendo's online setup... and I don't mean the ease of swapping friend codes or giving you a personal channel like MK Wii does, I mean the whole sha-bang like in other shooters. Ranking systems, leaderboards, mic use (that isn't going to be limited to friends, but so far I've not heard otherwise and I'm sure knowing Nintendo's strict policy, the Wii speak mic I own will not be used in non-friendly games I bet...) as well as other systems like experience leveling up, customization options, and fun gameplay modes out the standard. Well what I mean is core design. Because right now it seems to be following the shooter design template, that has become a tired template since the 90s, exept well... with motion controls.
Its a pity, especially from a design perspective as there is so much that could be done, and so differently on the platform - focusing on technical aspects of the system, and utilising a dull design seems to be a horrible opposite of what should be done. And much of the ideas really are simply those seen essentially as standard in other shooters.
Now of course the Wii in the shooter genre is know here near the other platforms, and yes its standards are lower - when put alongside the likes of something that is a standard on other platform - like lets say HL2 or COD4 - so its an unfair comparison, and this is somewhat bridging a small portion of a huge gap, but this is missing the point entirely of the Wii's strength.
Something, that stands out against the pack, that works to the systems strengths - that are so unique, no other system can emulate them.
There is such a huge potential for shooters on the Wii platform, but developers keep abiding by age old shooter templates, that are still at the fore front of the genres 'recent celebrated titles'.
Different design is needed, as well as something with distinct personality.
There should be less 'look at how we are catching up to what others can do' and more 'look how unique this is, that cannot be done anywhere else'.
I see everybody's practicing their "I told you so" posts. Some are alright (for a practice run), but as for those of you with the one word "expected" responses, come on! Be a little more creative, I know you can do better!
CVG doesnt know what thier talking about this game looks fun.
wiionlygamer
The people who have played it don't know what they're talking about because the game looks fun.
Oh, the irony.
you take his sentence, and replace "the conduit" with any other shooter and i'd be ok with that statement
this gen it seems shooters replaced corridoors with slightly open docks, boats, parking lots.
i don't see why everyone is using this as proof the game looks to not be fun, (i think it looks meh but hope it turns out ok for all the Wii owners who deserve a good online FPS) but this is just describing most console shooters except for maybe battlefield, and MGO (coz in MGO you sneak and hide sometimes in the plain open and it works so you don't have the normal duck behind cover in a hallway kinda moments all the tmie)
I like how people are using this to say the Wii is utter garbage, like seriously even if it doesn't measure up to your standards of FPS, and it gets like a 6 or 7.5 can you not let those million or so Wii owners who like to play FPS on it have a game, why does it have to be a statement of your discontent towards the console? why are you even being attention to Wii titles anyway?
who knows, i'm looking forward to the controls, which are said to be even more revolutionary than MP3
but i really want to see RS2, coz its using Wii Motion+. that should be so awesome
