New Console Graphics King Has Arrived!
DAZZER7
And its name is Uncharted 2!
;)
It would seem many disagree ;)
LoL, are you joking? Who thinks that this game looks better than Uncharted 2? I want to tally them up.only ps3 exclusives can be graphics king.G-O-M-JApparently, because they consistently look better than any multiplatform game on the market.
Uncharted doesnt look amazing ? C'mon, you cant be serious.[QUOTE="Tjeremiah1988"][QUOTE="dakan45"]Yeah its not graphic king and uncharted 2 doesnt look that amazing either...its funny how a game with great graphics is turned into a graphics king just because people like how it looks.dakan45
Here we go again.... :(
Yes it looks pretty good but not that amazing, i mean come on, graphics king?
so whats console graphics king and BFBC2 looks great, but let me see a larger video, but I don't see it being graphics king.[QUOTE="DAZZER7"][QUOTE="jakehouston88"]

LoL but I want to know who has that opinion so I can see them try and justify it.I do,and graphical preference is subjective, because it can also mean artstyle instead of technical power.Yeah sure.from a technical Point of View,Uncharted 2 is unmatched on consoles, but as far as Actual Artstyle goes,I can Think of tons of games that blow it away,The game in your Avatar being one of them.

I can deal with that. Anybody think Uncharted 2 is technically inferior to BFBC2?[QUOTE="DAZZER7"][QUOTE="Brownesque"] LoL, are you joking? Who thinks that this game looks better than Uncharted 2? I want to tally them up.Brownesque

LoL but I want to know who has that opinion so I can see them try and justify it.There are a couple in this thread and in some of the other threads on this new video of Bad Company 2. I am curious, you seem to believe it would be impossible to justify Bad Company 2 being more technically superior than Uncharted 2. lol I can easily justify it.
Uncharted 2 has 1 post processing effect which makes it stand out, and that is depth of field, the game uses this effect a lot. Putting that aside, the trailer we saw of Bad Company 2 has (I'm not going to say better as the trailer wasn't clear enough) comparable textures, bump/normal mapping, real time shadows, particle effects, volumetric smoke and destructable environments. Its very hard to tell which would be using the most polys but Bad Company 2 appears to have the larger environments with much more in game assets being rendered at any given time.
You seem from your previous post awfully ready to dismiss any claim that Uncharted 2 may not be console graphics king?

I can deal with that. Anybody think Uncharted 2 is technically inferior to BFBC2?i do, on a technical level uncharted 2 is average. The new console graphics king is Uncharted 2. Get used to it.BrownesqueNo that's just your opinion and i am free to disagree with after playing UC2 [QUOTE="Brownesque"]Seriously, view and acknowledge this isn't a contender for graphics king.Killzone 2 multiplayer footage for comparison Would you just look at that. Hot damn, looks like we don't have a new graphics king. I've played KZ2 way too much and BF2 is giving KZ2 a run for its money, sorry this looks more intense and looks like a war.

LoL but I want to know who has that opinion so I can see them try and justify it. It has more going on screen,it has more enemies on screen,it doesn't look cartoony like UC2,is open world,it has destruction everywhere,UC2 doesn't and the list can go on and on.Man I thought Gear 3 arrived replacing Gears 2 as King. :P
Those visuals do look damn good - no doubt about it.
You put me in a tough position, I love BFBC but I know, now that I played the demo, that Uncharted 2 beats BFBC2 by a mile.Good thing I can play both :).
Not really when you probably hit 1 out of 5 shots. also, you would most likely be so far away because your a sniper, thus a wus making team members spawn in the middle of nowhere..sigh again[QUOTE="POPEYE1716"]
UMMM Yeah If your a sniper you sneak behind enemy lines and kill the enemy while your team captures the flag. I guess that is not helping the team right.8)
killzowned24
And yeah, NOTHING is worse in the game than sniper on offense.
I take it you've never played a battlefield game? or maybe you're confusing it with CoD.OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT LOOKS AMAZING!!!!!!!
*just got back from watching a UC2 VID.......now watches BFBC2.........
Thats looks kool too :)
[QUOTE="wooooode"]Graphics King is only for games that are out. If you want I could say Halo 17 is graphics king.badtakerthen why cows shouting about Uncharted 2 becus if u have a ps3 then u would be playing the mp demo and therefore can say it is gr king

i can tear up boxes on u2...dats all i saw blow up on that vid i just watched....and its not an open world...just a HUUUUGE map bf2 looks great tho

The buildings and just about everything in the game is destructable.
[QUOTE="wooooode"]Graphics King is only for games that are out. If you want I could say Halo 17 is graphics king.DethSkematikMan, don't even joke about that :P. Halo's an awesome series, and I'd hate for it to turn out to be the next Dynasty Warriors.
Then tell Halo fanboys to stop buying Halo games. if Microsoft can keep making money off of them you can bet they will keep developing them.
While U2 looks really good, you can't deny that BF:BC2 is one heck of a game too. I mean, the physics, draw-distance etc. are all much higher then U2, also the game is alot more chaotic and alot more stuff happens at the time. Oh, the game has destruction too.

LONG VERSION.....(SKIP ME)
BAD COMPANY 2 HD
UNCHARTED 2 HD
Based on these two videos, see 'em.
First of all I want to note that the quality of the animations in the two videos is highly disparate. Bad Company has good, realistic, apparently motion captured player model animations, but they are recycled on loops, albeit tastefully. The first person animations are very poor and are inferior to the third-person reload animations in UC2. That's sad. Obviously Uncharted 2 carries a far broader range of animations. The first Uncharted carried animations that blended and were contextual. You could seamlessly transition between animations....a trip animation, a stop and go animation, a roll, shooting, reloading, whatever, they actually blended. We don't see that in BFBC2, they're dramatically inferior.
Now some other things I want to talk about are the explosions and destructible environments. BFBC carries real-time destructible environments, which are interesting and contribute to the processor load as additional calculations have to be performed in real time. They also have a fair amount of carnage going on with a high player count. It was obviously intensive. However, take a look at this footage of UC 2 from E3 09:
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-uncharted-2/51623
In it, at 2:40 you'll see destructible cover with volumetric smoke. There are destructible parts of the environment but the events appear entirely scripted. I would say that BFBC 2 has superior destructability in environments just with the sheer volume of things you can affect on the landscape. Virtually every building can be leveled. Even still, Uncharted 2 can equal it in this regard with destruction processed in real time and volumetric smoke.
Also, I'd like you to watch that second video I've linked to with regards to draw distances. Obviously, draw distances increase the amount of polys that need to be rendered and increase the processor load with the amount of crap that has to be affected by real-time physics and animations, along with textures and so on. Also central to that is dynamic LoD. With an aggressive DLoD, you lose details at longer distances while still retaining draw distance. At :40 in the Uncharted 2 vid you will see absolutely stupid draw distances that apparently go on for kilometers. I play a game called Red Orchestra that gives me a bit of experience with virtual draw distances, as they have tanks with adjustible sights with effective ranges of thousands of meters, so I've got some what of a feel as to how broad a draw distance it is, and I can tell you that the distances in that clip are well in excess of a kilometer, at least that's what my instincts say.
For comparison, the draw distances in the BFBC2 footage are very big, and very broad. I estimate that you can see at least for 200-300 meters at maximum in that footage, although it's difficult to tell how far the draw distance actually goes as a result of the fact that your effective view terminates due to a smoke shield at around 200-300 meters, sometimes less. I saw a building in the distance but I could not tell if it was a 3d render or a backdrop. Clearly, Uncharted 2 does not use backdrops. The view goes on until it hits something lulzy, like a mountain range, which is 3d rendered. Frankly, it's hard to tell, given that this is the only gameplay footage I've seen, that BFBC2's smokescreen is an effect limited to that map or an effect inherent to the game engine, but I'd say that given this footage, the draw distance is DRAMATICALLY inferior to Uncharted 2, although still superb and above and beyond industry average. The LoD, however, starts to become aggressive at less than 50 meters, with aliasing, substantively decreasing texture quality at maybe 80 meters, and reducing poly counts at maybe 100 meters. That's just my estimate. For comparison, the LoD in UC2 is just stupid. It never quits. The poly counts are high and the texture resolution is high. The geometry complexity is just dumb.
Obviously, the BFBC2 footage shows a high degree of action. Explosions happen a lot and the volumetric smoke is all over the place. At most (realistically) you could probably see a dozen people onscreen simultaneously all affecting the geometry and producing more dynamically rendered effects. However, Uncharted 2 is also stupid in this regard. There are always several pirates running around with guns blazing producing lots of particle effects with the sparks from gunfire and a dynamic environment that changes as a result of the helicopter in both videos chasing the player and destroying things in pre-determined patterns. Even still, this simulation is very dynamic and has a lot going on. I'd say that the two games are approximately equal in this regard.
The character models in Uncharted 2 are dramatically superior. The texture resolutions are also superior.
SHORT VERSION: (DO YOU HAVE A SHORT ATTENTION SPAN? READ ME!)
Both games are substantively above average. BFBC2 is a very good looking game, substantially above average. Uncharted 2 is a mindscrew. It takes your face and destroys it. Uncharted 2 is better.
While U2 looks really good, you can't deny that BF:BC2 is one heck of a game too. I mean, the physics, draw-distance etc. are all much higher then U2, also the game is alot more chaotic and alot more stuff happens at the time. Oh, the game has destruction too.

That's true, but it's not like Uncharted doesn't have a lot going on either.
lol im just laughing at all the people saying Uncharted 2 doesnt have amazing graphics review after review have said uncharted 2 single player has stunning graphics but yet people dont agree. All you people have played is the multiplayer i hate to bust your bubble but the single player is going to look ALOT better then the multiplayer. I can promise you 100% that you will be blown away by the single player graphics. All you people denying it are going to look really stupid when the single player comes out. So go ahead tal crap about it but i can promise you there is noway in hell you will be able to talk crap about Uncharted 2 graphics when it actually comes out and people see for thereself/
Ill be interested to see how this game looks on PC. I still plan on buying it since I liked the first BC but I never got around to buying it. Killfoxthis 100% no srsly, i also never go around to buying it :P
I was far more impressed by the audio quality..Graphics are pretty good too. But the audio is amazing.
[QUOTE="Jamiemydearx3"]Great, now people will talk about which game is audio king. lol But you are right, this game does have amazing audio. Please dont give em any ideasI was far more impressed by the audio quality..Graphics are pretty good too. But the audio is amazing.
