Massive, seamless world? Yes!!! Finally the FF game we've all been waiting for.

Thats really all the details I need to hear, I don't even care if it goes multiplat in the future, I just need to know that at least someone in square enix still knows how to make a final fantasy game properly.

This game was the entire reason I bought a (relatively new) PS3. Although, I don't really understand the logic behind that at the time when I only saw three videos of the game resulting in me wasting $300. Even though I don't know where this hype is coming from, I do hope it gets a 10/10 (and restore some respect to the Final Fantasy name). As more and more information comes out I feel justified in my random purchase.

Did they say anything about the combat system/towns/dungeons?

I really want to get into JRPGs, but the slow and outdated turn based system always annoys me. Any chance of it having a real time combat system like in ToV?

They said that it would be a bit similar to Kingdom Hearts with all the craziness found in the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children action sequences. If they can actually pull off some of the best action scenes I ever saw in a movie and put it into a game then I'm...Oh yeah, they also said that it's a (described as a very big and far-stretching) open free world with no linearity. So it's starting to sound like the RPG version of Grand Theft Auto, but a whole lot better. And I would expect no less from the game that is still keeping Kingdom Hearts III as an idea for the past 5 or so years.

Umm maybe something similar to GoW 3's action sequences without the QTEs, as well as some set pieces similar to Uncharted 2 and the combat stunts from Advent Children. That would be one amazing combat system lol.

After finally beating FF13 the fun has been injected back into it. Can't want for Versus :)

Yeah, I remember one of the trailers or something saying it's "fantasy based in reality".

All Versus trailers have that quote i think, but yea game it self look like fantasy in relistic envriament :)

If it's gonna be same as FFXIII it will be out 1.5 year after foirst screens started to pop up, it might be even faster due fact that FFXIII alked this way already

They did that because when FFXIII became partyly exclusive they needed to mark this so there won't be any confusion

Also why did they go for a title like "Versus 13"? Why put 13 in there, people might associate it with FF 13, which was a disappointment to say the least.

Famitsu magazine had many intresting news for the PlayStation 3 with first the reveal of the highly anticipated DS title Ninokuni ( from the creators of White Knight and Dark Cloud ) coming exclusivly to PS3 and some new footage for another PS3 exclusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII with an interview with Numora creator of Kingdom Hearts series and Versus XIII which also stated that the game will have some more info and more reveal during this years TGS. ( the new footage should be coming soon..i hope ).. news about the Last Guardian should also be at TGS.

Expect the new screens to be all over the internet during the upcoming days

• The game's cloud effects use real physics calculations
• The world is an open field, and you can go everywhere except for the mountains
• The battles are seamless
• The game's encounter system is both random and symbol-based (meaning you can see enemies in advance). Hmm... what could this mean?
• The game's world is mostly seamless, although there are some load points when you switch between the massive areas.
• You can destroy objects that you find on the road.
• The quality of the combat scenes is so high that people will not be able to believe it when they first see it.
• The staff is excited about making the game
• The Versus screenshots show a fight with a weaponized Behemoth in a city.
• Square Enix will be showing an unannounced title at TGS. Given the context, I think this means a Nomura game.
• Nomura says that the Versus visual quality will improve even beyond what's shown in the new screenshots.
• Agito's development is progressing well. You'll be able to move about on the world map via Chocobo and air ship.
• The 3rd Birthday will be of such quality that you won't think it's a PSP game. This applies to the graphics and volume.
• Nomura apparently says The 3rd Birthday will be the ultimate PSP title... until Agito comes out.

As soon as i read the extra info about the game, it got me thinking this sounds like the old final fantasies and maybe even a little like kingdom hearts because of all the free roaming ability, I also like that fact that you can see most things on the map before random encounters because alot of times those really annoy me. This game just keeps sounding better and better, although FF13 and Versus were both games i looked forward to since their announcement, Versus has been longer awaited by me than FF13 and since i realize its taken longer it must be a better game altogether...this is old news but i also heard they were trying to make a way for u to wander around the map using noctis or some kindof shipto get to ur location, i dunno maybe for easier travel etc. Though not sure if it was a success cause i heard the map was huge and very detailed. Anyways great news nonetheless, this game and a hope for PSP2 will be the only reason i watch TGS; and so seriously Level 5's bringing a DS game to PS3? hmm wonder how that'll work out.

I always hated the invisible walls in video games and especially in the FF games. Hopefully, this game will have a bigger scope and more freedom.
