All in all, they can do no wrong if they keep the old but add new things as well. So, yes, I'd say new features and abilities is an improvement.

But they didn't make it better. You're doing the same thing, just with a different interface.

How does that not make it better? Right now i'm only able to chat with one person at a time, i can't watch movies or slideshows with other people, couldn't do any avatar-related features, and overall, it just sounds a lot more conveniant than what we have right now.
