New Details on Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Famitsu magazine managed to score an interview with Tetsuya Nomura where he spilled some new details on Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

Nobody has heard or seen any new gameplay from Final Fantasy Versus XIII since January 2011. Final Fantasy Versus XIII was absent last year and many eager fans are waiting for more details on the game.

Here's some of the things he had to say during the interview as translated by Andriasang:

-Nomura recently did the latest check of the game. The visual expression capability has improved from the trailer that was released last year.

-The game has a mix of real time and Visual Works pre-rendered CG. The ratio is 7 real time to 3 pre rendered.

-The scene where Noctus and Stella meet for the first time has been made into a pre-rendered scene. This is because it's an example of an area where adding player control would not have a big effect.

-Square Enix won't be holding an event ala last year's January press conference this year. However, Nomura said that he'd like to make some sort Versus related announcement/showing this year, although he can't say when or where.

-The next time we see Versus XIII, we will get a look at it being controlled on actual hardware.

It's not much, but atleast it's good to know that we will see some new gameplay footage from the game later this year.It's been over a year now since we last saw any gameplay footage from the game. Hopefully Square Enix will show some new footage from the game at E3, at the very least.

With every passing day, this game slips deeper into obscurity.

Just release the darn thing already.

Cows would lose it, then blame the 360's storage media limitations if the game turned out to be bad.

After six years of professional trolling, Square Enix isn't going to let info like that slip when we haven't seen much from the game yet.

I'll keep on waiting though I guess. I waited as long as I did for Deus Ex HR, so the wait for Versus XIII seems like nothing.

I think most people have been expecting this game to go multiplat. In every thread that's been made about it on SW it seems that not only are most Cows expecting it, but most of them dont even care. The hype for this game lost steam years ago.

Sure you'd have a few idiots going wild and blaming 360, but not many.

A half a decade ago I was actually interested in this.

Except it really wouldn't be ownage at this point. The vibe around SW for the past couple of years is that VS.XIII will be multiplat. Everyone expects it. The game remaining exclusive would be the true shocker.

That's how I feel about it.

I think SE sees this as an opportunity build up hype for Versus XIII again, since hype for the game died down a long time ago and many have forgotten about it.

I think 2013-2014 is the earliest that it'll be released.

My hype for this game was immense but to be honest it's not worth the waiting this long for anymore and I just lost interest

we allready know the story, the graphics will be the same as FF13 (maybe worse), lots of yummy cutscenes (thanks blu-ray), we know the gameplay (kingdom hearts durr)

what we dont know is when the DAMN GAME IS COMING OUT
