Looks very good presentation wise, however 30FPS is still very EHH. I could overlook pretty much everything but that.

I don't think so, especially not on PS3. Maybe with a game like Shadow Complex, but I don't even know if that runs at 60.

The only console games running at 60FPS with UE3 are MKvDC and MK9. Basically it was a stupid decision to use the engine for a title known for its speed. As far as I am concerned this game is dead on arrival. Nothing in NT past titles makes me confident in this game and the lack of 60FPS confirms to me that it's a budget version of the real DMC.
I've gotten over the whole Dante ordeal now. Game looks pretty good so far. I'm liking the art direciton.
Looks lovely. I don't mind the reboot/redesign or whatever. People complain about similair sequels but then also complain about any changes :Plocopathobut it looks nothing like a DMC game ... it looks like Harry Potter with a sword.
[QUOTE="SaltyMeatballs"]What, this game will be 30fps? DMC4 was 60fps though and this game doesn't look much better graphically for 30fps...Slashkice
It'll be less than 30fps since it's Ninja Theory.
Meh bayonetta on PS3 runs like crap to and I can play it fine so I'm not too worried, I just think the game will look really slow.

People aren't afraid of change. They only get concerned if the change is bad. There are games where the main character from the sequel is replaced with another character and manages to still be great (Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, DMC4, etc.).
Dante's design does not bother me (to a certain degree). It's the combat system that has me concerned. It looks too stiff and less free than 3 and 4. It feels more forced than it should be.
O I have no clue as to the gameplay, that's a real concern. Just the people who went mental at the look and new Dante that bug me :P[QUOTE="locopatho"]

But we've had multiple DMC games that all looked pretty similar, why not a mental reboot? Especially for a fantasy series like DMC, I think it looks sweet.
you know those are bullshots right? It might not be a real Devil May Cry but it looks like a great game either way. O and yes the graphics look great(and clearly better than GoW3 and anything on PS3 outside of the UC series).

Looks like they're trying to make it like GOW. Slow, sluggy combat with big backdrops and focus on presentation. I don't think they made a setting and style that can pull that off though.

i'll anticipate the day when gamers go back to playing games for fun instead of worrying how many frames it runs...
Mario1331
Agreed, but frames do matter in DMC games. It's a part of the combat and experience. That's the issue here.

It was more than 30, but it wasn't 60. It was 60 on PC though.

Oh great, look at us. I hope we didn't catch the "graphics whore" virus.

It wasn't. It was 40-60 (juggling around there). How would you feel if mario games ran at sub 30 FPS?

ill still enjoy them i really dont notice the ***** difference anyhow a quick slowdown in the game mechanics doesnt effect me much.
Change the Name to Soul Reaver and we got a game!
Seriously those "Green Pictures" give off the Soul Reaver feel for me while the first 2 give me the Prince of Persia 2008 feel.
Might be good.
Kind of funny that people had to go on damage control because the graphics looked good lol.
I personally cant wait for the game.

Bayonetta on the Xbox runs seamlessly at 60fps, and has graphics/art style that's a lot better than this game. Bomba incoming.[QUOTE="GD1551"][QUOTE="Slashkice"]

That's no where near how detailed Bayonetta looks, unless that's the PS3 version. The PS3 version looks more washed out and colour-deprived, like the image you just posted. That looks about right for DMC4 though. And there is absolutely nothing going on in the DMC screen, while both the Bayonetta and DMC4 one are in battle. Graphics don't matter though, FPS is the more important thing. We all know what happens to beat 'em ups that have low framerates: all flash, no substance.DmC: http://image.gamespotcdn.com/gamespot/images/2011/306/605600_20111103_screen002.jpg

It wasn't just okay, it was brilliant. The weapon system added so much depth. It's pacing was also great. And the combat was actually fun. I usually play DMC for adrenaline rush, but it's not nearly as exciting or pure fun as Bayonetta. I also love the game's charm/style, don't see much of those in games these days. Though I do know a lot of people who thought it was kinky. This game looks to be going the opposite direction. Looking at the gameplay videos, it looks to be horribly slow-paced and shallow, trying to make you "feel like the cool guy" who's not really doing much.To be honest only thing i thought that was ok from bayonetta was the combat. I disliked everything els about it.
