I read that, but I have also seen alot of information recently and talk from reputable sites about the 9800GTX and from that information I can easily discern that the performance of the 9800GTX is going to trash this new card.MadExponent
Nvidia hasnt announced any kind of new artchitecture. How could the 9800GTX possible be better than the 9800GX2 when the GTX isnt a new artchitecture?
Can you provide links to the articles on these "reputable sites"?slickchris7777
Well one is HardOCP. They provide the nVidia D9E roadmap and where this new card fits in. There are couple other ones too and that is where HardOCP got their info. Toms Hardware Taiwan is another one in which I have provided new images of the GX2. Basically it goes like this...9800GX2 < 9800GT < 9800GTX
[QUOTE="Cedmln"]SO then it will be selling cheap right? Since thats not a big imporvement.WuTangGKidtendo charge $250 for an overclocked GC, things arent going to change all that sudden
And what does this have to do with the 9800 GX2?

The fact that there are companies that are going to treat their userbase like crap:cry:[QUOTE="MadExponent"]I read that, but I have also seen alot of information recently and talk from reputable sites about the 9800GTX and from that information I can easily discern that the performance of the 9800GTX is going to trash this new card.XaosII

nVidia is confusing me too man. I wasn't really confused until now. They are changing things up quite drastically. Just hang in there. I am trying to get to the bottom of this whole thing. I tried to reach my buddy at BFG on his cell. I got his voicemail at his office somehow.

Here are some additional pictures of the card. Last picture is 2 cards in SLi on a 790i motherboard. Thats right 790i not 780i.

Holy crap thats a big card...
Okay I got through to the guy at BFG. He is confirming everything I'm hearing, but he is unable to disclose any information about the existence of a 9800GT or GTX. He said that the 30% numbers are true. He also said DX10 performance is much improved.
Edit: Heat is apparently well under control with this new card. He would not tell me clock speeds on this card and he did mention there are a few nice surprises in store for the launch of this new card.

I know him from the HardOCP forums from a while back. I was having issues with my old 6800Ultra and he sent me a new one for free. I also was in contact with him when the 7900 series cards launched and he sent me a free pair of 7900GTX's to play with and he ended up letting me keep them. Very nice guy. Unfortunately I cannot give his name out cause I would HATE to lose this contact. Anyways after talking to him about this new card I am feeling a little better about it. I could tell by his voice that he wanted to tell me more, but whatever. Feb 14th is not far from now.
BTW completely off topic...Quicktime movie trailers just released a brand new trailer for The Dark Knight. I am downloading it right now in 1080p. Should be sweet!
cost? :(azshorty2003
MSRP is $449 US. This basically means that you will see them for sale at first for about $500ish.

 no thank you
Oh boy lucky for you people who can afford this and upgrade your PCs always. I will be using my 8800 GTS 320 till its death meaning when new games cannot be run by it anymore. By that time, there will be video cards better than 9 series and the next of it.
P.S. I need to know more about these hardware stuff especially that i'm an IT student. You'll be shocked but most of the PC gamers here in my country have no knowledge of computer hardware.
