Need to see in game shots, not replay mode and off-screen shots. I think its safe to say that Sony won't allow Polyphony to take this long for GT6. A-Spec was an essential player in the success of the PS2 when it was in its infancy and with no competition on consoles. How do we know GT5 will fare well on PS3 with competition that has been better than GT in the past? We don't know that, which is why they are taking so long to release this game. Turn 10 has consecutively pushed the console sims forward with each iteration, making it harder and harder for Polyphony to follow suit. That is my only guess as to why its taking so long.

Listen to be honest I really don't care about what the game looks like, because that is all that has been discussed for 5 years now. That is all I have heard, GT5 has the best graphics, and it has this new cool feature called best graphics and it has all of these courses that have the best graphics. Just give it up, stop talking about the graphics. Its as old as hearing about Metal Gear Solid coming to 360.

I gotta say, even the lems are right on this one. Even a fan like me is starting to get pissed off for all the freaking delays. Just release the damn game already.

It looks great but I couldn't stay on the track when playing the demo. It's just too dang hard to control the cars.

You know, i went from foaming at the mouth with the release of every video, trailer, screenshot............to sheer anger and frustration with the release of each. I think PD should just keep their mouths/emails/sample discs shut until they are SURE of a release date. All this releasing stuff whle delaying the game is just turning me off as a long-time fan. Maybe its just me........................

Ownage approved, and it looks better in motion. It sad some people won't even trust those screenshots, or the shots that even the developers provide. I don't know how else you can judge the game, those are the two most reliable sources.

After playing Time trial and prologue and looking at the actual gameply videos. It really isn't as great behind the wheel as those replays make it look.

JUST ONCE I would like to see a GT5 graphics thread that didn't have replay and off-screen shots.

So PD managed to release 4 great games before Turn 10 could manage to get their first Forza out the door. So what if PD wants to take their time with this one? They've earned the right.;)

Forza 1 was actually made in half the time PD made GT4, and Turn 10 didn't even exist as a studio until 2003

i will say that GT5 is extremely ambitious but it is pretty ridiculous when an entire trilogy of racing games comes out while you're making 1 sequel, and it's not like Forza is bad either it's got a great livery editor, 400 cars, tons of tracks and events and great online, it just seems like if they put all this effort in GT5 that Microsoft will just give Turn 10 a bigger budget and they'll just churn out another Forza game that does everything GT5 does for the next xbox and it'll be incredible looking thanks to a new GPU... i mean it's not like racing simulations is something that PD is having to work on from scratch, there's an entire industry of that stuff that's been years ahead of video games, so it's not simulations that PD is spending all this time on, so it just gets frustrating when you hear about it taking longer to make 1 game

Strange, I wasn't aware that the world was running short on time. :P

But, yeah. The better you do for a company, the longer your leash. Do you think Kojima would have his own studio and would've been able to create MGS4 without the performance of the previous Metal Gear games? Do you think Take Two would've green-lit the budget for GTA4 without the performance of GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas? Now there's PD, consistently releasing huge sellers, so of course they have more time than most, to make the game as they wish to make it. It's not even like they are hemorrhaging Sony's coffers after the performance of GT: P. So yeah, not all the time in the world, but enough.

They should not say rubbish like "the game is 90% done", and "we are going to release it soon" then!

Of course it isn't fair to blame Turn 10 for not producing games before they existed. But it is equally unfair to count Forza 1 against the dev time for GT5 when it was mostly done by the time GT4 released. Nor is it fair to ignore the other projects put out by PD in that time. Nor is it fair to ignore the fact that much of the work for Forza 2 was simply carried over into Forza 3. Nor is it fair to ignore the fact that there will be more cars in GT 5 than Forza 2 and 3 combined. I could go on...

After 6 years in development and over 50 million in making the game, that question mark is highly unnecessary sir. It will be the best racing game once it releases on my Great Grandson's 16th birthday.

For the record, I have no children.

information or release dates for Alan Wake or Splinter Cell were simply rarely ever given and the games went dark for years

Polyphony and Sony have been throwing gamers bones for years and GT5 has been delayed for 2 years already and everytime they came out with a new release date it got delayed again

so no, it's not totally impossible if GT5 got delayed again, if anything it's more probable that it'll get delayed again than get released on time

CakeBalls

GT5 was only given 1 official release date and that was in Japan march 2010 then got delayed lol stop believing all what you read in SWs.

yeah it was given only one official release date, but so many times Kojima or Sony say something along the lines of "the game's ready" or "we can release it at anytime now" or "it will be out soon". Two years is longer than soon.

kojima????????????

i guess mgs:r stands for metal gear solid racing

:P
