I don't see where you said it was MGS4 either. In fact, that wouldn't make sense seeing as this thread is about MGS4 Online.

MGS online's graphics are slightly inferior when compared to graphics in the actual game probably to keep it running smoothly... However they look good and I like them... Also MGS IV's single game is what really interests me, I think the Online is just a plus for MGS fans...

Back to that screen shot, is the texture of something like that up close that big of a deal? I think this game, only graphically speaking right now, looks freaking awesome. I don't see how people complain about something so trivial as that.

I'm not saying you think or said that. I just don't care about stuff like that when I'm watching the characters. I guess I could see why people would care so much about it though, but not me.

Why is it toned down? Shouldn't it be upgraded considering kojima doesn't have massive amounts of audio in the way with MGS:O?

But then again, I didn't notice much difference between R6V2 and Halo 3 and CoD4 (Apart from Insane bloom on Halo 3 :|)

Graphics dont effect performance with online data transfers (console or PC), all the graphical information (for console games) is held on disk and process straight off it (now days most of it is cache to the hard drives whilst playing a match and swapped in an out depending on the level), it has next to nothing to do with your performance to transfer data, all you have to do is have enough bandwidth to send and recieve the data.

My guess is they just couldn't to bothered basically making resources for the online version, so they just transferred them from MGS4. It doesn't matter in the end, when your playing its not like your overly focussed on the details of your surrondings, just whats in your surrondings and how not to get killed by it.
