That's cool. So theres the middle east and alaska. 2 areas out of the 5 revealed
I have a feeling they are hiding A LOT... kind of like they pretty much hid the entire BIG SHELL and Raiden before MGS2
f50p90
They've already shown the Middle East, Prague, South America (all the Vamp scenes), and Alaska. There's only one left for Snakey to go to.
Young Snake at Shadow Moses, I'm guessing playable flashbacks, meaning, Zanzibar Land and Outer Heaven in PS3 tech:DTheManOfChoicesounds way to good to be true...now if only it was June 12th
Was that a flashback from MGS 1? If Snake has playable flashbacks from his whole life during MGS4 that doesnt sound good cause he might...... at the end of MGS4!!! Gamersince81
i guess they are going for a LOST type feel to the game with flashbacks and hidden information etc. should be great!
AWESOME!
Casuals will be owned the day this comes out:lol:
Egghead360
dont worry they wont be buying this game anyways lol

What if the last one is the area where MGS3 takes place I forget some of the names but I remember Groznigrad (spelling?) It could be that area even though didn't that get destroyed? I can't fully remember and I played that game about 3 weeks ago.[QUOTE="Gamersince81"]Was that a flashback from MGS 1? In one of the Trailers it said they will reveal all the secrets so it should be hidden stuff that they didn't show in the games.Just to clarify, that was a playable dream sequence. It's out of MGS 1. That's why Snake wakes up and says, "I was having that dream again".
The whole point of that video is that you will be able to "replay" MGS. I think this is cool because;
a) Kick back to "hardcore" fans who have followed the entire series or played any of the MGS games (assuming the dreams/flashbacks cover parts of the entire series)
b) Allows casual players who have never played MGS or are not aware of the story to catch up on the plot with playable sequences instead of watching a FMV or "story board" type sequence.
This game reeks of EPIC WIN. 2008 is going to be a great year for gamers. GTA IV, MGS IV, Gears 2, Fable 2, Resistance 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, and Fallout 3. These are just a few of my most anticipated titles, sure to be some other gems this year too.
Casual fans who started MGS on MGS2 dont need a flashback, they need Nintendo characters and gimmicky mini-games and theyll be happy:lol:Just to clarify, that was a playable dream sequence. It's out of MGS 1. That's why Snake wakes up and says, "I was having that dream again".

WAAAAAAH PS3 and 360 doesnt have anything new and is only trying to sell movies, thats why more than 50% of our games are crap:cry:

yes ok thank you for your opinion. *looks at your sig* hmmm that game wont deliver quote me on that one :|
I have a feeling that this is more than a simple flashback due to the fact that there is so many things different in that trailer than what really happened.
1. Snake isn't wearing the same sneaking suit as he did back then. He also appears to be wearing a different one than the octocamo. It's really hard to see but it the top half of his suit seemed different than the octocamo while the legs looked the same.
2. Snakes hair is still long, but Snake had short hair back then.
3. Snake didn't run through a snowfield to get to the heliport. He came up the elevator.
4. Snake has what looks like an XM8, yet there was no XM8 in the MGS1.
5. The heliport looked completely deserted, aswell as a bit run down. It looks more like Snake is visiting the place a few years after Shadow Moses
I could be completely wrong, but we know Kojima likes to fool people with the trailers.

Yeesh, both of you are dead wrong (according to my crystal ball), both of these games will deliver. It seems that hardcore MGS fans are really defensive sometimes, just chill out :|
I think MGS 4 is going to be pretty awesome. My major complaint with the original series was the fixed camera angles. The player now has complete control over the camera. Players will be able to toggle TPS/FPS for the entire game, too. It seems like MGS 4 will be focusing a lot more on gunplay but also keeping a firm root in stealth tactics for evading and confronting enemies. To me, the core gameplay mechanics always seemed like the weakest part of MGS series. It looks like MGS 4 confronted these issues head on. I have a feeling this game will be top notch. I'm saying AAA, even on Gamespot which has been really harsh on PS3 titles in the past.
I think it is still a Flashback but it is a flashback from after the Shadow Moses Incident were Snake still has Brown Hair and his body isn't Rapidly deteriating. It could also be Snake dreaming of what will happen.I have a feeling that this is more than a simple flashback due to the fact that there is so many things different in that trailer than what really happened.

I kinda had a feeling we'd be going back there when one of the trailers showed rex and ray fighting, the background of that scene looked a lot like Shadow Moses.
Why the hell did snake have black/brown hair though?
SSJ_Nega
It was a flashback, didnt you saw the whole vid?

its not being defensive is the fact that fanboys like to make silly comments based on their crystal balls

lol way to go at comparing a action game to a stealth game. i might aswell go ahead and say gta1,2,3,4 > whole ninja gaiden series! :| and are you telling the gameplay videos of mgs4 have been only trailers?? fanboy goggles set to maximum i see.

I think you might be right. Snake may go back there after MGS2 for some reason, possibly in pursuit of Liquid.
