They'll probably make a fix to unbrick it, seeing as the PS3 can load stuff from USB prior to the OS loading, its totally possible a fix will come out.
Kind of like a bad bios flash on an HP laptop, while booting the laptop you hold down 3 keys on the keyboard and it will flash whatever is on the USB stick (with the right file name) to the bios. I'm sure the PS3 has a similar style of feature seeing as they use USB to 'jailbreak' it, or at least did before new years eve hit.
i have a broken fat ps3 (won't read discs) and did the cfw and worked fine.alberth123123I have a broken one too and it did not work.
But will they learn? I bet no
I can already see it ..... "PS3 sales increase because of hacked/bricked consoles" it's Sony RROD!so only ones with hacked games are being bricked right?
i changed my hdd over ages ago to a 320GB that doesn't matter right?
wonder if they still play bluray movies? i wonder if Sony can legally brick a system to not play movies, that's a whole other set of license agreementslol i guess there will be a lot of ps3's on ebay for peanuts now, might snap one up incase they come out with a unbricker :)

Why don't they just wait on a proper one with a decent homebrew and everything.
This will for sure just keep killing ps3's.
because waninkoko knows nothing about the PS3, he just wanted the fame of getting lv2 first, or he is an epic troll
all PS3's with this CFW will be bricked soon, it will overload the syscalls even after its installed

Because they want free games now.
Can you repair a bricked PS3 yourself? Because if not, lol.
hakanakumono
yes you can, its honestly not that hard, it would take 20 minutes tops
well.. nand/nor flashing isnt something the average ps3 user would know how to do

The PS3 jailbreak fallout just keeps on coming, with the latest incident serving to demonstrate how careful gamers must be when they try to mess with their systems. A new custom firmware has been released, and it's bricking 60 GB consoles left and right. Oh dear.
Custom firmware v3.55 has killed quite a few launch PS3s as people rushed to "back up" (lol) their games without waiting to see if the thing actually works. Even when it was discovered that the firmware is utterly broken, people were still bricking their consoles because they weren't reading whole forum threads.

Awesome, I hope it bricks as many systems as possible.
What other reason they can have? NES emulators lol. Im pretty sure most of those who install CFW are doing it do get pirated games. Homebrew is a onsense as it can be done so much easier and legaly on a PC.Whats amazing is how people are classified as pirates for using custom firmware.

[QUOTE="SPBoss"]LOL, great news. Is bricking ultimately the end of said console? Im sure they can flash the firmware back to stock?tommyasI dont know but I hope they cant :P
Hopefully they dont find a way :P They'll definately buy another ps3 seeing as they would never pay for xbox live or afford a pc They are not pirates, pirates know what they are doing LOL These guys just thought oo let me get free games and ultimately failed, inexperienced users think a guide is all they need, it requires intuition and experience aswellIdiot pirates getting their just desserts.
