Nothing is wrong with it. It doesn't run games in 480p/22fps like some "other" systems.

I'm waiting for Gamers Nexus to to a proper SoC test, not that it really matters since I have one.

Also, running hotter doesntatter unless we see PS5s overheating left and right.

I'd be more concerned about the heat produced affecting the variable clocks in the console.

To be fair, people use "Youtuber" and "Influencer" interchangeably although they aren't the same.

Austin Evans is an influencer and YouTube personality. Guys like Gamer Nexus, "Hardware Busters" etc aren't.

People can defend Austin Evans all they want he did it for the clicks and than did another one were he probably said that he is sorry that he is right, have not watched it because i really don’t care if ps5 new model starts overheating or break down that is when you start complaining to Sony, and then you have Xbox fanboys YouTuber saying how he is right and Sony fanboys YouTuber saying how he is wrong causing more clicks on his channel because Austin Evens is trying hard to get more subscribers to be like the guy from unbox therapy or Marquees ( i think i spelled his name wrong), and fanboys are stupid enough to give him that attention, to me he seems to be an Xbox fanboy which is fine

For those who keeps asking/waiting for GN, Steve said he's trying to find PS5 new model, he doesn't have inside contacts with Sony tp send him a testing product, so he's going what everyone is doing, finding PS5. So it's going to be a long time before we see GN but I can tell you all that the YouTuber Hardware Busters International is legit good and other tech YouTubers trust his work. I vouch for Hardware Busters.

And it should be noted that Austin Evans is consider to be the Xbox Ambassador, so take that for what you will on the guy. The difference is that Austin isn't a Tech YouTuber, but GN and Hardware Busters are. Influencer trying to be techy don't mix.

Didn't SONY revise the PS5 because there was a $1 part they couldn't get enough of so they redesigned the console so they could ship more units?

It's obvious they did more than just that at this point, but that was their original talking point. Now all of a sudden they are making more per unit, which I'm fine with as long as the overall product didn't take a hit.

Either way, it's funny that I'll have an OG PS5 to joke around about kind of like my ol' fat boy PS3 :P (RIP to that console by the way.. :( )

I have said before, most consoles go through minor revisions so this isn't too surprising.

Right now they could be focused on doing what they have to in order to make them cheaper, or possibly to produce more to meet demand.

As long as it remains functional and there isn't an increased risk of failure then I then it seems they're making the right choice.

However, the memory does run hotter in the new model at 48.2C compared to 40.88C on the launch units. VRM also runs slightly warmer at 46.32C, compared to 44.97C.

The CPU runs cooler, the memory is supposedly warmer. But nothing's gonna blow up in your Playstation. Sorry lems wasted all that time with that FUD. Maybe you should play some games now, I recommend Psychonauts 2, it's good.

Those are completely operable temps for VRAM and VRMs either way.

Xbox Series X runs hotter, but still not even close to throttling temps btw. The fight over console temps is pretty funny.

It's just a revision neither console versions are bad or should have anyone worried. These SOC's and RAM modules can handle running at 60-70c for year's without issue.

As long as they don't throttle and the fans don't spin up the console is fine, just play the games and enjoy your lives people there are far worse things in life.

But why others that reported the same and did test on it said it runs hotter than the first model?

So after all this talk it's a non issue interesting.
