Comparing Max Payne to anything David Cage has made is an absolute joke. Whilst I do find Sam Lakes writing a little pretentious at times Remedy at least have the decency to throw a fun game alongside the story.

Sam Lake (atleast in the Max Payne games) never attempet to integrate the story into the gameplay, hes just like Kojima, he doesn't want his story to touch the gameplay, say what want about Cage but atleast his stories make some concessions to engage a player, not a viewer, or in the case of Mr. Lake, a reader

Sam Lake I don't believe has a say in the gameplay, he's the writer not the director I do believe. I could be wrong on that though.

Creative Director, he's been promoted, new office and everything, I think Gameplay Creative design as well with in his Pay Grade now. Besides I'm not attacking Mr. Lake, I'm just pointinting out how Remedy under utilized his work.
