I havent played NSMBWii but ive literally seen hours of videos. I prefer LBP.
I also liked how LBP controlled (Killzone 2 too). Thought it was unique to the game and made it.
Mario. Not really into the designing thing.
NielsNL
I havent created a single level and its my favourite platformer this gen.
Just think of the editors as something for someone to make levels for you.
I have played both games and both games with local mulitiplayer. I personally when playing with other gamer friends and alone prfer lbp however when playing with casuals nsmb.
Lbp also has online multiplayer
People like to complain about lbp controls but the truth of the matter is there just upset it doesn't control like mario.
The create factor is lbp is also very very fun. Its not about making a lv that will be number 1 on the charts its about having fun designing it.
[QUOTE="nintendo-4life"]Mario, the whole "create your own levels" sou ded appealing to me then I remembered I am lazy >_>. Mario has a much better control scheme and level design Respawn-dI cant imagine why youd say that nintendo4life :P  you know I was actually going to not reply to this thread at all because of fear that people will call me a blind fanboy :P Ugh I really should change my name >_>
NSMBWii because the controls aren't bad.
They feel really off in LBP.
i thought i was the only one that thought the controls were bad for LBP. im really shocked to see this poll so close. LBP was one of the most boring games i ever playedThis is not really a fair comparison. It should've been Super Mario Galaxy vs. Little Big Planet. NSMBW is a light hearted spinoff at best. It had decent level design, but there's really no use in playing it over other 2D platformers unless if you have a couple of friends over.
[QUOTE="Ringx55"]There's something wrong with the controls for LBP? Pushing R1 and X must be so hard for you guys.treedoor
My complaint has nothing to do with the buttons, and everything to do with the floaty, loose feeling control you have of your character.
I've only played the demo of LBP, but I can tell this is true. The problem isn't that it doesn't control like Mario, the problem is that it doesn't control well.[QUOTE="Ringx55"]There's something wrong with the controls for LBP? Pushing R1 and X must be so hard for you guys.treedoor

yep i noticed that as well but u get used to it (felt the same when i first played ff13 as well)[QUOTE="Ringx55"]There's something wrong with the controls for LBP? Pushing R1 and X must be so hard for you guys.treedoor

You're just not use to the floaty feel, I personally think it add s a bit of charm to the game and is very manageable to play with... But to each his own. On the last page it sounded like the controls to play the game were off :P[QUOTE="treedoor"][QUOTE="Ringx55"]There's something wrong with the controls for LBP? Pushing R1 and X must be so hard for you guys.Ringx55

Mario, Metroid, Megaman, Castlevania, Contra, ActRaiser, Sonic the Hedgehog, Batman, Adventure Island, and a whole slew of other titles that I grew up with had tight controls. The platforming games from the Sega/Nintendo era that had floaty, loose controls were the ones regarded as bad games.
Luckily LBP has stuff going for it like co-op, and the level editor.
Easy choice for me. As far as 2D mario platformers go, I prefer the 3D. I'm not a fan of the 2D ones. I prefer Donkey Kong, and Kirby 2D over Mario.
As for LBP, it is one of my favorite games this gen. LBP 2 is one of my most anticipated games this year.

To bad no one ever has, or ever will.....:(
I don't get this obsession. If you want Mario levels play mario. Recreating them in every mod game get's real old fast. Gamers need to seriously get over this. There's something wrong with the controls for LBP? Pushing R1 and X must be so hard for you guys.Ringx55

Reminds me of the KZ2 complaints about the weighty guns.[QUOTE="Ringx55"][QUOTE="treedoor"]You're just not use to the floaty feel, I personally think it add s a bit of charm to the game and is very manageable to play with... Do you honestly think every high regarded platformer plays with the same weight? I hope not, since that is an insult to some of the most finely crafted platformers ever.

I guess I'm a bit of a opposite, I LOVED the feel of the guns in KZ2... Took some time to get used to but really added some grit to the feeling of the game....
How each game controlled really fit well with what the game was about imo.
LittleBigPlanet... but Super Mario Galaxy is far better than both, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 is better than everything.

treedoor
And what's the problem with that?
Mario has been THE standard for platformers since the first game came out.
There is no standard. Platforms can control however they like and shouldnt be judged because the dont jump like marioPlease Log In to post.
